The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

Eagle
Was moved to Lakes corse due to a mix up. Lakes course was not in good shape. Talked with the Pro Shop and they gave us a free round for the next day on the Forrest Course. Really appreciated the customer service. The round on the Forrest was great. The course was in much better shape and we enjoyed the round
Slow day on course
The course in fair condition with areas under repair and greens needing some help. Got behind 4 foursomes of ladies that were fairly deliberate in their play but caused 20 minutes delay off 1st tee. Group playing behind us was impatient and hit up couple times.sometimes you just have to relax and enjoy the day. Had a better than average personal round with plenty of par and even far amount of birdies.
Weather was perfect but never saw drink cart all day. Food truck instead of clubhouse is offering on Forest course.
Hope they can work on greens and freshen bunkers.
I like the layout.
Greens aren’t consistently cut. Some faster than others. Backnine is more consistent but some bad spots.. so I saw it fair to enact local rules & move the ball no nearer to the hole and have a smooth putting surface to the cup. Sand traps are hard and compacted.
Back again.
Had a deal from GN. Have played there before and liked the course a lot. Some of the tee boxes are a bit chewed up from the heavy play (snowbirds - including me), but the greens were in GREAT shape. Good course. Wish the deals and prices were better more often.
April review
Tee boxes in very bad shape and forward tees not elevated .
Would prob not go back. Worse condition than last time which was Dec
Shady
This place is out of control with fee's. They charge you a $5 fee for using a credit card and I saw what I can only guess is a tax fee. On the receipt it showed a .75 cent fee right under the tax with the exact same description of the tax just without the word tax.
We appreciate your honest feedback.
Painfully slow but like the course
We’ve played here a number of times over the years. Course was not in great shape but still ok on the fairways - some real bare patches on occasion and the tee boxes are in really really poor condition - they just need a bit of TLC - an important element of the overall presentation of the course!
Buggy issues when we arrived meant that the whole field had been delayed - something we’ve never experienced before.
Greens were in excellent shape - not too quick and nicely receptive. No ranger meant the pace of play was very poor unfortunately. We will be back to play the lakes because we love the eagles but hoping we don’t have the and issues around buggies and are hoping that the course is in a little better shape.
Dissappointing
Too many areas with no grass. Greens wee ok but not consistent.
Wildlife Abounds
This was a great course. The greens were in fantastic shape and the amount of wild animals was incredible. A family of deer, hawks, turtles, snakes, alligators and birds everywhere. It was a great day for golf.
There was a cart lady who had her hands full with both courses, but she was able to serve our thirst. So many sand traps, trees, tight fairways and water hazards that made it a very challenging game.
UPSCALE EAGLE …..FOREST COURSE….& the LAKES
Buried in an upscale residential area of Odessa, Fl
these 2 golf courses were surrounded by lovely homes, well appointed landscaping and many long and narrow bodies of water. ……(with a variety of interesting creatures.) Staff were readily available with golf carts, a good morning, answers & a refreshment cart . The course was fun to play, probably bc we were matched with a fun loving couple from CANADA……. they were young, talented golfers and interesting. Unfortunately, the course was not in the best condition especially the tee boxes and a some of the greens. PACE of play started off slow, probably by 15 minutes or more yet finished within 4 1/2hrs.
The CHALLENGE ……course design and water “traps”.
Evan though this particular course was 90 minutes from home the ONLY time and price via “TEE-OFF” made it worth while.
Good layout. Nice people
Nice at check in and staff went out of their way to call me after I left my range finder. Thank you. Lots of hidden ponds just over mounds. A course guide or layout on the scorecard would have been nice. Practice greens were awful but course greens were pretty good. Poor range....off mats hitting water balls in to the lake range. Never liked those. But people were extremely friendly so give it a try. Also, the turn on the Forest does not take you back to the clubhouse...fyi.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a rating!
Thanks for the honest review. We do hope you'll give us another change again in the future.
