The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

Dissappointing
Too many areas with no grass. Greens wee ok but not consistent.
Wildlife Abounds
This was a great course. The greens were in fantastic shape and the amount of wild animals was incredible. A family of deer, hawks, turtles, snakes, alligators and birds everywhere. It was a great day for golf.
There was a cart lady who had her hands full with both courses, but she was able to serve our thirst. So many sand traps, trees, tight fairways and water hazards that made it a very challenging game.
UPSCALE EAGLE …..FOREST COURSE….& the LAKES
Buried in an upscale residential area of Odessa, Fl
these 2 golf courses were surrounded by lovely homes, well appointed landscaping and many long and narrow bodies of water. ……(with a variety of interesting creatures.) Staff were readily available with golf carts, a good morning, answers & a refreshment cart . The course was fun to play, probably bc we were matched with a fun loving couple from CANADA……. they were young, talented golfers and interesting. Unfortunately, the course was not in the best condition especially the tee boxes and a some of the greens. PACE of play started off slow, probably by 15 minutes or more yet finished within 4 1/2hrs.
The CHALLENGE ……course design and water “traps”.
Evan though this particular course was 90 minutes from home the ONLY time and price via “TEE-OFF” made it worth while.
Good layout. Nice people
Nice at check in and staff went out of their way to call me after I left my range finder. Thank you. Lots of hidden ponds just over mounds. A course guide or layout on the scorecard would have been nice. Practice greens were awful but course greens were pretty good. Poor range....off mats hitting water balls in to the lake range. Never liked those. But people were extremely friendly so give it a try. Also, the turn on the Forest does not take you back to the clubhouse...fyi.
Great golf experience
I visit the Tampa/Orlando area for a long golf weekend with old friends every winter. This course has been on my wish list for several years. Some reviews made me nervous about course conditions but I was very impressed. Tee boxes were definitely too thin/sandy, but the rest of the course was in great shape. The only rough areas we noticed on greens were on a few edges. Pin placements largely took these bad spots out of play. The course layout, at a price far below many comparable courses in the area, is worth the trip.
Water and dense trees line every hole, so bring extra balls unless you’re able to consistently keep it in the fairway.
Nothing too fancy about the pro shop, but I hit 0 shots in there.
Thanks for the great rating and honest feedback!
Thanks for the rating.

Excellent layout, but teeboxes was terrible (white teeboxes)
Need a better maintenance.
We appreciate the great rating and honest feedback.
Course conditions
Tee boxes very sandy, fairways and greens fast due to lack of rain
We appreciate the honest feedback.
Thanks for coming out and leaving us 5 stars!
Forest Course with water!
Truly enjoyed playing the Forest Course for the second time. It is a fun but challenging course, with water and traps in all the right (or wrong) places! Also saw turkeys, osprey, alligators, squirrels, ibis, and other wildlife despite being in the middle of a really nice development. Go play!
We're thrilled you had a great time!
Used To Love The Eagles
The Eagles used to be the go-to course in the Tampa area for a solid 4-star great value round every time. Unfortunately over the past year conditions have gone off a cliff, the course is for sale and it seems to be hanging by a thread. This is not the place it was and it’s sad to see.
The tee boxes are sand boxes, both courses seem to be intentionally overbooked so you’ll have to wait for a cart, range & practice area are trash, clueless staff, they don’t answer phone calls.
The eagles has always had very solid greens. This was a course you would go to so that you could work on your game. The greens are so bad and slow right now it is an embarrassment to the game of golf.
You will also never see a ranger. It pains me to write this review but somebody needs to do something over there to bring this place back to life. I won’t give up on you but I’m certainly not the only one that feels this way.
