The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

Golfer Reviews
Sloppy
Was way too wet to play cart path only which was ok but so wet all balls plugged in to a point where they were lost . This is a great course when dry but no fun when under water
Poor Drainage, cannot handle any heavy rain
In the drier conditions of late Fall, Winter, and early Spring, this is a fun course to play. Rains makes it almost impossible to get a decent lie. Mud shot after mud shot is very taxing and tiresome. They should have had the close closed. "Cart Path Only" should not apply to the only dry area to hit from.
Forest course
This was one of worst rounds of my life.i ripped it down the middle and found the ball in free-standing water! Course was soaking wet and 90 degrees only. No place to take a drop even if i wanted to. Went into the proshop to ask about a rain check and the guy said sorry talk to Golf Now. This is a crime to let folks pay a green fee for this when it is unplayable. i understand we are in a pandemic but this is totally bogus and wrong!!!
Flooded and rotten
8am tee time, course was unplayable due to overnight flooding, yet the staff said it was a-ok. It took us an hour to play two holes as we literally lost every ball we hit as they could not be found in the fairways or rough. Fairway grass was brown and rotten, too soggy to stand in, rough was flooded with inches of standing water.. Greens were in decent shape. I've played here before and enjoyed the course, but the staff needs to better communicate with patrons on the course conditions. Typically a 4-star review would be warranted, but buyer beware.
The Forest
Fairways were burnt. There wasn't a good place to be except on the greens. Lost balls just inside cart paths or just off the cart paths. Even heard a resident complain he lost a ball in the fairway. When booking there was no mention of condition
Gloriously overpriced
$50 dollars for this course is a complete waste of money. Used to be nice but as completely turned into a total disaster. Fairways are furrier than an unkept whisker biscuit. You would be better off taking your $50 bones and getting yourself a couple of cases of natty ice or miller high life and pounding beers for 5 hours (I say 5 hours because that’s how long it will take you to play a round here). If you do decide to go, I thoroughly suggest taking a couple of Xanax before the round because maybe you’ll get lucky and pass out and forget that you just wasted precious hours of your life that you will never get back.
There are literally 20+ public courses in Tampa for nearly half the price that are better than this dump
Sloppy Conditions Lead to No Fun
During summertime in Florida it's expected to rain just about every day. Fortunately, most courses are set up to drain well and allow play during the rainy season. Unfortunately, The Eagles isn't set up for this. Understandably, carts were required to remain on paths, but the fairways and rough were so saturated, balls plugged deeply and were difficult to find (I lost 3 balls in the fairway). While courses only make money when people play, I would have appreciated a warning of how sloppy the course was playing. To top it off, a brief downpour occurred after 6 holes. Needless to say, today was a washout.
I've played the course many other times. During dry conditions, the course is practically flawless. But during the rainy season, it's best to stay away.
Great greens
Greens were good. Fairways muddy, a lot of weeds. Staff really nice!
Hi 1rseidel. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing The Eagles Golf Club - Forest.
WET
Course was soaked due to all the rain we’ve had. Great layout, fun course to play. Not the best greens but not horrible. Decent shape for time of year.
Weeds on the greens are getting bad.
Many of the greens on the forest course have weed growth. This affects many putts. Too bad is this is an otherwise great layout.
Great layout, weed issues on the greens/ teeboxes.
Many of the greens have weeds growing all over them. The weeds will move your putts off line. Teeboxes are very weedy and some have little grass. The layout is great so worth playing.
First time at Eagles
My first time at Eagles was one to remember. I’ve been playing many courses around the area recently and the Forest course here ranks high up on the list. Fairways and greens are in great shape, fun and challenging course. Looking forward to coming back and trying out the lakes course.
Great day of golf!
We had two great days of golf at the Eagles the past two weeks. The Forest course was cart path only, due to the rain we had last week, but it was much dryer today. Green rolled fast and true! Great course, in great condition, and a great price!
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing The Eagles Golf Club - Forest!
