The Eagles Golf Club - Forest

About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

1st time in the Forest
Pleasantly surprised. I had heard that you don't want to play the Eagles, it is not worth it. Well I am here to say I am glad I didn't listen. Course was very green, fairways very playable, cut just right. The greens, 90% of them in great condition, only a couple greens that were in rough shape, but u could tell they are being worked on to make them like the other greens. There were only a couple area of standing water left over from the hurricanes and the most recent rains we had. Overall I am very happy I played the Forest, wonderful 1st time. experience, I would recommend coming out to the Eagles and playing!
Purse needs work
Greens are in terrible condition but they are charging higher rates still. Was not impressed at all.
What happened?
Played here a while back and the greens were in respectable shape. Played today and they're covered in weeds? Arguably the worst greens I've played on in this area. Charging $90 for a course in these conditions is criminal. Course is also severely overbooked. Wouldn't play here again unless conditions improve dramatically.
Overbooked constantly. Angry players are a minefield.
Our tee time was 12:52. We had to wait 30 minutes for a cart. Then we headed to the tee and there was a 5 group wait. We didn’t tee off till 2pm…
On 17 the group behind us started a shoving match with the group in front of us. Because every hole had several groups waiting to tee off, he shouted that this person was taking too long to take their shot and drove his cart onto the tee box. Meanwhile there are THREE groups on this par 5 in the fairway and green. It’s just a nightmare out there.
Coming Along, still a work in progress
Fairways- nice but wet from over watering?
Tees- mostly nice condition
Greens- horribly slow and bumpy. need to be
rolled.
Cost- high for the quality
There are better choices
I've enjoyed playing the Forest course at The Eagles for the past 10+ years. However, the carts are really starting to show their age and haven't been updated with a GPS screen. The Tee boxes were in decent shape, and the fairways were OK for this time of year in Florida. The greens were borderline unplayable due to the length of the grass. They hadn't been cut in days so they were nearly impossible to putt on. To call them slow would be an understatement. The only bathroom at the "turn" was locked, so the only option was to use the woods, drive all the way back to the clubhouse, or hold it like the lady in our foursome had to do. The pace of play was over 5 hours, not due to it being crowded, but one or two slow foursomes slowed down play for the entire course. The beverage cart was a big positive with cheerful service and decent prices. Overall, for $90 there are much better options within 30 minutes of this course.
Good value
Some fairways lack grass and some greens are patchy, but a good deal especially this time of year
