Layout so-so
Played the Lakes. It seems as though every green is elevated, usually with one or two bunkers in front. The greens were very well manicured, but were hard and did not hold. Several shots that looked good bounced over the green. Some holes in the layout looked weird, like #10, almost a horseshoe shape around a lake. A lot of tee shots felt like target golf, and sometimes hard bounces ended up in trouble. Staff was great and friendly
Fun but narrow course
The course is a very nice and it's only 15 to 20 minutes from Tampa. The course wasn't in the greatest condition, but I think that's mainly from the colder weather in January and February. The course is challenging with a fair amount of dog legs and narrow fairways, so you definitively want to hit the ball straight! Greens were in good condition and offered a nice roll. I would recommend this course.
would play again
Friendly greeting at bag drop. Arrived early, not busy got on right away as 2 some. Greens nice, fairways wet in spots from overnite rain. Other wise they were not great from the dry spell over the last few months.. Just bump the ball to find a spot ,all is good. Would take friends there.
Old time layout. Very nice experience. Beautiful trees everywhere. Course condition was very good.
Very challenging
I would have rated it. 5 star but the greens did not bite. Greens are fast, if you land on it the ball rolls off.
Other than that we had a great round.
Eagles Lakes Rocks
I was pleasantly surprised, for this time of year, that the course was not packed. We finished our round in 3 hours on a Saturday. The course is in great shape and everything went swimmingly well. I even scored well for a change. The staff welcomed our GolfNow Hot Deal reservation graciously. The cart guy made sure we were all set and off we went. It was one of those days where sunshine gave way to clouds, the wind picked up and at the end was bone chilly. Glad I had a hot tub and a tall glass of Merlot waiting at home.
Great Florida Golf
My preferred course of play when in Clearwater area. Always in great shape and the staff are always ready to accommodate you. They are always friendly. Love this place!! If I was a permanent resident I would become a member.
Great staff excellent golf course
We arrived early and unsolicited we were given permission to start. The staff were very polite. The course was in excellent condition (winter condition).
Eagle Lakes
Pretty good shape. Fast. elevated greens increase difficulty
Weather and Course A+
Day off from work can't dampen the day. The course was in good shape, greens excellent condition for time of year. Waited in no one and didn't have anyone playing up behind us.
Staff is very helpful
Fairways were a little spotty, but the greens on the lake course were tour quality. It is a great value and I recommend it to anyone.
Great courses
There are two courses on this property and on this day I played the Lakes course. There is water on this course but generally I did not feel that it was more difficult than the Forest course that I have played in the past with regard to water hazards.
The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways were very good as well. I really liked this course and recommend it to anyone. It would be helpful to have a sky caddie or similar device to watch for distances to hazards. I wish these courses had yardage books which would be helpful to first time players. It is not a good course for walkers. It is one of best values in the Clearwater/Tampa area.
well maintained course
Considering it is the dry season the fairways were in good shape unlike some courses that feel like concrete. Staff was very friendly. Getting picked up at your car and the free water bottles on ice are a very nice touch. Tight fairways were challenging but fair. Will be back.
Fine challenging course
Hard to fault-plays well and if you stay straight all is well.Plays a little long in places for me off the blues
but most enjoyable.
Eagles Lake Course
On a beautiful Sunday, my wife and I enjoyed our golf outing at the Eagles Golf Couse. An attentive golf assistant drove a cart up to our SUV and offered to place our clubs into the cart. Wait time was minimal and pace of play was excellent (we were able to get out a bit early). The course was excellent, especially the greens. Although my wife feels the course is a bit long for her, we had a great day golfing, finishing 18 holes in little over 3 hours. We live at Eagles and hope to play here more often.
Rather plain trac.. Doglegs left then right..
Overall not a bad track. Just a little bit boring. Greens good shape, fairways. Salsa.
Eagles Golf Club Lakes course
11:57 tee time w/ buddy . Similar to Rio Pinar CC except w/ exceptional greens & more bodies of water. Wide tee shot landing areas. Tee boxes in great shape. Fairways cut low but pretty plush. Roughs are cut low enough to spot errant ball fairly quick. Perfect amount of sand in bunkers. Greens are spectacular. They're elevated, some are huge. But they roll true & fast. Probably 10 or 11 on stimpmeter. Course has a cool layout in subdivision setting. There are many small bodies of water on course but they don't really come into play unless you hit a really poor shot. Saw a couple of huge gators & typical Florida fowl. The round was slow w/ several 3-some in front of us, but no Rangers around to speed up play. Staff in clubhouse & carts as well as Starter, were nice. Battery powered carts w/ windshield & rain cover in back. Will definitely come back to play this challenging & enjoyable course. Well worth the hour & half drive.
Nice hard greens
Fair layout with elevated greens. Very good for putting, but extremely hard to keep ball on the green from almost any fairway shot. Still a fun course to play with a nice challenge level for low and middle handicap players.
