PGA WEST Greg Norman Course

We had an enjoyable round with friends. Course conditions were fine except for the bunkers. They sorely need attention.

The red forward tees were quite long in some cases - 509 par 5! - but jumior tees too short.

No real memorable holes. Pace of play a little slow. Marshal seemed to ignore slower groups ahead of us. Course conditions just average.

Given that the temp was 103 when we started at 3:45 pm getting 9 holes in was probably as much as we could expect, but was hoping to for more.

Me and my buddy got paired with two nice guys. Unfortunately they were the last two of three groups playing a Scramble and the groups in front were very slow. The course assistant came by with about 5 holes to go and didn't say a word to any of the groups to speed up play. We paid 199 USD to play in five hours with the last hole in almost complete darkness. For a PGA course the standard was very low.

Also they had a wedding setting-up so were not serving food through the kitchen. Instead they had a young guy at a BBQ that served us raw burgers. Didn't eat them.. really a bad experience and not something you would expect for that amount of money from a course with that name.

The course was in decent shape but green were very slow. Play at your own risk and only if you have the time.

By far the best track we have played in Palm Desert. Excellent conditions, tricky / fast greens and terrific layout. Most fairways are saddled such that anything to the left or right side typically fall towards the fairway. We took a hot deal ($122), but had to play at 12:45 (really hot)…definitely worth it!

Course in excellent condition, challenging due to the number of water hazards and fairways/ greens that drain towards the water. Fun course.

A joy to play

No complaints everything was as it should be a special mention to Linda in pro shop her service and helpfulness was second to none.

Greens were sandy, which made them slowish, but not too bad overall. My main complaint was conditions of the TEE BOX on some holes, it was impossible to tee low and hit an iron as the grass was 1.5-2" high (linger than the fairway)! Was only in a couple bunkers, and they were inconsistent and hard packed. Would have been disappointed at full rate, but for the price a got - it was a good day.

The only thing I didn’t like about the clubhouse was that the restaurant was not open in the morning. We couldn’t get any drinks and snacks prior to starting the early morning round. The course itself and the staff were amazing!!
