Gem of a course well worth return visits, in idyllic settings

Arrived and headed to the bar to get sorted. Fantastic barman sorted things for us and gave good knowledge of the course. Course suits straight hitters and does test at times. The greens were not great with black moss patches that caused the puts to go all over the place. Buggy hire was organised by the club having contacted them by Email the day before.

Disappointed with the greens and also on the bottom of the course the amount of cross overs when you tee off over a green. Blind shots and cross overs I am sure the course could be tinkered with. That’s when you need to wear a crash helmet.

Decent score could have been more decent if the greens had been decent.

Arrived in good time and the staff were fantastic. Informative and very helpful. Course is immaculate except black moss on the green and dead heads from trees. Another day the dead heads will have past and it would not be like pin ball. This is no way the fault of the green keepers. Crash helmet needed as around 4 holes on the lower section you hit over greens or tees.

Anyway for a person getting back into golf and a handicap of 20. A 12 over par could have been better with the putting. Played with my wife and she has just started about a year ago and she got a par.

On arrival I found the course closed but was not made aware of this situation when I made my booking . I feel in these circumstances I should receive a full refund .

2nd day of our tour and even though the weather was a bit drizzly the course was really good. The staff in the bar were really friendly and gave us loads of tips and the course is st in stunning scenic beauty. Layout was fantastic and a very interesting course. Loved it

Absolutely fantastic course, beautiful setting however worst Greens I’ve ever played on. Really disappointing and the greenfee is way over priced.

Turned up and the hosts were excellent and we felt well looked after. The course is in excellent condition and was a joy to play. Hope to return next year about the same time. Would definitely recommend a round of your passing that way.

Lovely views, good layout, well-maintained but very disappointing greens 1-10. 11-18 were fine.

This was our groups first time at minto, we all thought that the course played brilliantly, greens were in magnificent condition especially for this time of year, all running true. There were the odd patches of dampness on some fairways but that didn't bother us.. Will definitely be back and can't wait to see it condition in the summer, a hidden gem of a course.

Great weather.Tee grass too long,some fairways need cutting.Very little run on the ball on some fairways.Patches on a lot of greens.Back 9 chris crossing(possible danger) and hilly, but was aware of that .Struggled to enjoy the course/game.Bar staff excellent.Views were great.My playing partner would not come back,I'm a maybe.

Really enjoyed the views and some of the greens are an excellent challenge

Signposting to holes could be improved as our first time got lost

Not a negative review by any stretch - it's still winter and upper part of course was closed which meant only 13 played. Lovely course and really look forward to playing in summer.

Layout took a bit of fathoming out so maybe signage to look at?

Beautiful surroundings. Choice of beer extremely limited on day so assume everyone had a good night on Saturday.

Will be back to see it in it's pomp.

Having played Minto a few times, all in good weather fortunately, we were keen to play on Thursday.

Despite recent heavy rain the course was good and the ball ran well.

This time we remembered to pace ourselves for the uphill holes a bit more which paid off well .

Being midweek there were enough golfers around to be sociable with but it was not too busy so made for a lovely relaxing round in lovely weather , good conditions and beautiful scenery.

The course is beautiful and well maintained. It was a fun course to play, quite challenging for me but that doesn't mean its challenging in general. It's a bit out of the way and not very busy, which is a shame because they deserve to be mobbed. Fantastic value at £20

Really enjoyed playing the course which was in immaculate condition.

Interesting holes which required accuracy off the tee not necessarily length.

Would definitely recommend a visit if your in the Borders area.

This was a great find. Lovely course in excellent condition. Beautiful setting. Definitely would play here again.

Played this course before but a few of the holes were closed. So wanted to return when fully opened. Played the 18 and was not disappointed, few tricky holes. Lovely views as well. Will definitely be back. Bonus is I won lol
