A challenging course in poor condition
Will try to be fair we have played Melrose a few times now and always loved playing here just for the scenery alone but this time was the worst condition I’ve seen it.
Poor Melrose have lost a greenkeeper due to illness and members are doing there upmost to keep things going we were informed about the situation after we finished our round. Since we last played it loads of trees have come down either being felled or blown down. Again we were informed the Council are responsible so please Mr Council get up there and help these people.
Melrose is a course that must be supported to survive and thrive we love playing here but this is our opinion about course currently.
The clubhouse has a fantastic tea shop open now and the cakes are marvellous. We will be back as I say love playing here every shot in the book required.

Great little course - weather was a bit cool and the course was a bit damp in places!! Greens had been hollow tined but were still in great condition. Highly recommended!!
9 hole course
Very testing 9 hole course great scenery round the course
A hidden gem of a 9 hole course.
I played 9 holes only due to time restrictions on a hot deal. When I arrived at the club house the green keeper and an official of the club were there by coincidence and they were helpful in setting me off. The first Tee is on an incline and it continues upwards thereafter. But not too steep. The layout is good and the setting in trees and above Melrose is lovely. After 9 holes you do it all again. I used the locker room in the clubhouse afterwards but there were no bar services etc open which was not an issue for me. I would play it again if in the area.
