Burntisland Golf House Club
About
Burntisland Golf House Club in Fife, Scotland, is an 18-hole golf course designed by architect Willie Park Jun. It's best described as having a parkland nature, although some holes have a links-type turf to hit off. The course is just under 6,000 yards and has a diversity of terrain.
The fun starts with three par 3s in the first six holes, but birdie opportunities abound. There's only one par 4 over 400 yards, for instance, so good length off the tee and control of mid-irons can lead to that elusive below-par score. The two par 5s are also tamable: No. 2 has a tricky two-tier green that's narrow from front to back, but 12 is much less challenging for the low-handicap golfer.
Throughout the golf course, however, control is key. Out of bounds lies to the left of the first four holes and the 18th, and to the right of nine and 10. You face a pond to the right on five, and you have to maneuver past a quarry on 12. Beyond that, the course throws up its share of trees, gorse and rough all over.
When you finish the course, check out the clubhouse, which offers a bar/lounge/dining area. The bar's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the summer.

Worth the train ride from Edinburgh 100%
Incredible views, perfect course conditions and pace of play, incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth the quick train ride for anyone staying in Edinburgh and looking to get out of the city for a round!
Great course, excellent condition
Played my local course on a golfing weekend in Fife with 2 friends from York.
The course is in excellent condition from tee to green, with well manicured fairways and lovely greens. There are a number of interesting holes as you progress through the course - having played the course a few times, my personal favourites are the 4th (amazing views across the Firth of Forth towards Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh), 9th downhill to a raised green, 10th down a banked slope to a partially sunken green with a banked wall, the shared green on 8th and 15th and the quirky Par 3 17th hole, 120 yard pitch onto a sunken green with rockface to the right and bunker to the left.
Well stocked pro's shop and friendly bar staff and chef - we all had a meal in the bar - good quality pub grub, made to order.
A good day out.
Just wow
What a course , every hole different , a wonderful challenge
Spectacular views
A real hidden gem
It's a must play!!
This is a brilliant course, challenging, great views and the greens are some of the best I've played on. Highly recommend will be back. Food in the clubhouse was great and all the staff were friendly and helpful. 👏👏👏
Burnt island golf course
Absolutely loved my day out here so much that I want back the next day with a friend who also enjoyed the course unfortunately the weather on second took a turn for the worse( high winds) so when weather is better will definitely go back the scenery alone is amazing and the course layout is great 👍
5*
Amazing course one of the best out there in my opinion ! Trust the marker posts and you’ll be fine. Some quirky tricky holes . Every hole is different which is refreshing to see ! Love the views tee boxes and greens always superb
Pat 3 17th is the most quirky out there !
Friendly and accommodating staff too
Burntisland golf course
This golf course for me was beutifull to play. The course was well maintained considering the weather wee had for days before playing here. There is a cpl of challenging blind holes to play but if you play to the markers its fine. Once you get to the top of the course the views over the firth of forth are just soectacular if your visiting our beutifull country to play golf i highly recommend you play this course you wont be dissapointed. after wee finished our round wee went into the clubhouse were the staff and members were really friendly and accommodating. Wee will definetly be back to play this course.
Excellent as usual
Always play this course when visiting. Greens are always in great nick
Winter greens
We got a phone call the morning off playing to inform us that we were playing on winter greens , disappointing
Awesome views
Stunning course, awesome views.aand very welcoming staff in the pro shop.very helpful.would highly recommend this course.
Fantastic Layout, Breathtaking Views
First time playing Burntisland and what a wonderful experience.
It is December in Scotland and not a links so the course was soft / a little muddy in areas.
Course layout is one of the best I've played. I think one hole where I was thinking that there wasn't that much interesting about it - 17 others all had something going on.
Views across the Forth river fantastic - both towards Edinburgh and the nearside Fife coastline - all aided by some fairly dramatic lighting with cloud and low winter sun. Immediately recommended to family and I will return for sure to play in drier conditions.
Burntisland Golf Course
Always assured off a warm welcome in the pro shop, always informative and give good tips and any course issues or things to note. It’s a great track with great views across the Forth. The greens are always in great condition. The fairways are well maintained and the tees are always well looked after, only slight minor criticism is there are winter mats on the yellow tees on the par 3’s, which there aren’t in the Medal or ladies tees, so obviously the yellows are played off most. Always a good scoring course , and I enjoy its location. I like to play this course every time I get a chance
Greens
Course is really nice and well kept but the greens were very poor and this should have been made clear on golf now before booking
