Cowdenbeath Golf Club

About
If you're looking for stately history and lore in your Scottish golf, don't look at Cowdenbeath Golf Club. Built in 1988, it certainly doesn't have the seniority of St. Andrews, but it makes up what it lacks in gravitas with character and charm.
Located six miles east of Denfermline, Cowdenbeath Golf Club was built as a nine-hole course on the old Dora Coral mine site (the golf course is still commonly known as "Dora"). Cowdenbeath was ready for play in 1991 and extended to 18 holes in 1996. The length is now 6,207 yards.
It's a parkland layout with, what its Web site describes as, "gentle undulations and tree-lined fairways." The site also boasts that Cowdenbeath is a "challenge for both high and low handicappers."
The golf course features only three par 3s, but also only one par 5, No. 17, a 526-yard beast. The longest par 4 is No. 8 at 428 yards.
The clubhouse at Cowdenbeath Golf Club opened in 1998.

Only issue was that there was no starter. Used an old score card to record my score and happy to break 90.
Pretty windy. But the course is improving daily at the moment as the temps rise a bit. Looking forward to my next round.
Fife trust
Played Cowdenbeath great value on golf now course wasn’t as wet as could expect for this time of year but greens were very good and rolled so well . Give it a go don’t be put off that Is a municipal and very cheap
Great course
Awesome course with a great layout and very nice wide fairways. Very good conditions considering the weather and time of year. Will definitely be returning.
Good golf course
Good golf course for beginners big fairways nice green's.
Fantastic value
Hadn't played Cowdenbeath for over 10 years so was impressed with the condition of the course since my last visit, especially the greens. For £8.99 it would be hard to find another course that is better value.
Great Value
For a council owned golf course Cowdenbeath represents fantastic value. The course has a good layout & a great variety of holes. Although the greens had recently been cored & sanded me & my friend enjoyed our day. Look forward to playing the course next year when the new season starts.
Cowdenbeath Golf Course
Played this Sunday 15th with a friend, great course in fantastic condition.
Friendly and fun
Visiting the course on our way to the airport.
The course itself was in really good condition and fun to play. A lot of blind holes were you had to wait for a bell rang from the ball in front of you.
No driving range but at putting green and a driving cage to warm up with. No trolleys for hire but the really friendly guy in the “shop” (2x2m) managed to find one that my fiancé could borrow. Cudos!
All the same hole
Every hole just seems the same, straight par 4 after straight par 4
