About
Thornton Golf Club sprawls across an expanse of wooded parkland bounded by the River Ore. The course is mostly flat, making it easy to walk but don't let the lack of elevation deceive you. The golf course provides challenges for all skill levels, it especially tests players who have a tendency to hook their shots. The river comes into play on the par-3 14th hole, which is the first of a set of five demanding holes. Despite being some of the shortest holes on the course, they are actually the most challenging. Long hitters will have to be careful on these finishing holes. The final hole is longer than most of the course's short par 4s but it is more straightforward. In addition to the interesting round, Thornton Golf Club has built its reputation on the excellently maintained greens.

Another good find
Having played Kirkcaldy the week before we ventured a few miles north to Thornton. A great find in excellent condition. Again the greens had been cored a few weeks ago and had come bacl really well and were running very smooth. Layout is a little up and down to start but there are some very interesting holes that need your fullattention. Mostly tree lined so acuracy is the key. A warm welcome from the pro and although we didnt visit the bar it looke dfriendly enough inside. Would defo revisit and recommend.
Thornton Golf Course
Lovely course, tree lined fairways, not alot of rough area's, very forgiving for medium to high handicap golfers like myself. I would highly recommend this golf course.
Thornton
Very good course, some of the greens had some patches, but the pins were away from them, didn't interfere with the game at all. Nice layout, good overall condition.
hidden gem
played this course a few times but not for couple off years .forgot just how nice it is .a very fair course for all low handicaps to high .a few off the greens were patchy but understandable with dry spell we having . booked to play myself but was partnered by another player by the starter which was good . the course itself is really well laid out with a good mix off holes. plenty to keep you interested that's for sure .if you get the chance you must play it you must .I will be back soon .great deal from golfnow .
Poor course layout and condition
Really poor condition for March and not enjoyable with a lot of sandy greens, shortened hole and still winter greens. Which meant the holes were very samey!
