Linlithgow Golf Club

About
Above Scotland's Royal Burgh town of Linlithgow sits the Linlithgow Golf Club, featuring 18 holes amid farmland and hills, and views of the Ochil Hills, Union Canal and Forth Valley. It's about midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The golf course measures 5,863 yards - short enough to not do too much damage to the legs, long enough to require well-planned golf shots.
A round of golf at the Linlithgow Golf Club kicks off on Drambuie, a par-4 333-yard hole that plays short and straight, with a fairway that slopes down with minimal hazards. Things get increasingly tougher: By Deli's Dio, the ninth hole, you're looking at a long par 4, measuring 420 yards. The 18th, Union Canal, is another long par 4, measuring 413 yards, where you'll need to shoot a short carry over a ravine to reach an undulating tree-lined fairway - there's that canal, too, to keep things interesting.
The Linlithgow Golf Club clubhouse offers a lounge and restaurant for dinner, drinks, lunch and snacks.

One of the most enjoyable courses I have played.
The layout and scenery were fanatstic , some great and tricky holes and not too long.
Had a great lunch afterwards in the clubhouse.
First timer
Decent course. Bit of fun. Relatively short. Brilliant burger in the club house!
Nice course
Good course layout and some nice holes. Course in a good condition and staff were friendly. Good value for money.
This course will test your whole game
The pro and the 9 o’clock tee off boys were very welcoming, showing me layout of course and where practice facilities were.
The course was in excellent playing condition, especially for being mid December. Only 1 winter green as they were doing work on the 3rd but the greens were really good.
Driver isn’t always the best option off the tee here, and I like that, makes you think more about your approach shot as well.
Overall I really enjoyed playing here, will definitely be back and have a go in hopefully better playing condition.
Linlithgow
Very enjoyable round of golf at Linlithgow beautiful settings only downside it is a bit hilly.
Linlithgow Just an Enjoyable Course
Friendly welcome in the pro shop.
Course not long but good layout and well maintained. A few really interesting holes with views across the Forth Valley from most. Everyone will enjoy the Par 3 17th with its huge drop from tee to green, Union Canal and OOB just beyond!
Linlithgow
First time playing course. Amazing condition and staff really friendly when we approached pro shop.
Good stock of items in pro shop also.
Course was challenging and really good to play with different types of holes with different difficulties on them.
Would definitely recommend and play again
Course review
Course had a comp on so play was slower than usual but didn’t impact the day. Great course is good condition, all staff were really friendly! Can’t wait to play it again.
Elevated (hilly) course with beautiful views of Linlithgow and surrounds
A beautiful course in Linlithgow which I found tricky due to a lack of course familiarity, undulations and lengthy grass just off the fairway, whereas my more experienced partner adjusted well to these challenges.
Great course
Great course, lovely people. Well kept one of the best we have played on!
Decent Course
Booked here for a round through GolfNow since the rate was quite good and the reviews of the course were promising. I’ve been through Linlithgow many times and had no idea there was even a golf course there which isn’t surprising as it’s located on the side of a hill overlooking the town with a narrow access road on the other side of a housing scheme. The car park isn’t the biggest but may be sufficient for the numbers playing the course. The pro shop and the clubhouse are a little bit drab from the outside especially from the rear but is functional enough when inside if a bit basic. The course itself is decent, interesting enough and while it is relatively short has some tight holes. The condition of the greens were quite good although I did find the tees and some areas of the course to be a little bit shabby. There are some good views on the course, towards Linlithgow Palace but also some poor views with Grangemouth oil refinery with its smoke and flame burning away in the distance. Overall I enjoyed the round and would recommend to come and visit for a round of golf even though I doubt I would want to return to play again since there are so many local courses to choose from. Giving the course a generous 4 stars out of 5 but I cannot comment on the food or hospitality since I didn’t use the clubhouse facilities other than the loos.
Good facilities and course in good condition
Played as a pair at Linlithgow for the first time. Had a nice and reasonably priced lunch at the clubhouse first, staff on site were all very friendly and helpful.
The course itself was nice and in good condition although some greens had pools of water but given extreme weather on the day that was to be expected. Overall the course was in great condition especially considering the weather.
Difficult terrain
The greens and presentation of the course are excellent. But I have limited mobility and use a sit in buggy. The terrain is difficult
Fantastic course...
Excellent day...weather great..staff and Members lovely...and the course:
Fantastic...a real challenge. lying in a great spot and holes playing either WEST or EAST..
Beautiful parkland course with great true greens..and sloping fairways..you have to
think your way round...holes 16 17 and 18 lie in wait and can cost a few more strokes than
planned if you are not down the centre..Great all round..you can even catch the train to Linlithgow
and walk along the canal WEST for about a mile to reach the course...steps take you under and
through a tunnel to carpark..well worth the journey!!
Many Thanks!
Great course
Really enjoyed the course, played it a few times now, best condition yet. Greens were really good, very fast and true. Club pro is really friendly, good guy. Will be back soon. Layout is great, looks hilly when you pull up to the carpark but it is a reasonably easy walk, loads of quirky holes... Great day
Lovely course. Ro shop staff very friendly and helpful.
