Linlithgow Golf Club

About
Above Scotland's Royal Burgh town of Linlithgow sits the Linlithgow Golf Club, featuring 18 holes amid farmland and hills, and views of the Ochil Hills, Union Canal and Forth Valley. It's about midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The golf course measures 5,863 yards - short enough to not do too much damage to the legs, long enough to require well-planned golf shots.
A round of golf at the Linlithgow Golf Club kicks off on Drambuie, a par-4 333-yard hole that plays short and straight, with a fairway that slopes down with minimal hazards. Things get increasingly tougher: By Deli's Dio, the ninth hole, you're looking at a long par 4, measuring 420 yards. The 18th, Union Canal, is another long par 4, measuring 413 yards, where you'll need to shoot a short carry over a ravine to reach an undulating tree-lined fairway - there's that canal, too, to keep things interesting.
The Linlithgow Golf Club clubhouse offers a lounge and restaurant for dinner, drinks, lunch and snacks.

Excellent condition
The course was in excellent condition considering time of year and the recent monsoons. Guy in Pro shop was excellent asked if we had been before and then gave us several tips which we used and were very useful thumbs up emoji we got this for £8 per player which is outstanding value for money. Definitely would recommend this course and will be back next season
Linlithgow GolfClub
Greeted by a person in the pro shop who was less than helpful. I mentioned Golf Now booking and the reply was “your playing with two other people” that was it end of conversation No Covid arrangements for a four ball, therefore I mentioned this to the other pair of golfers who agreed to tee off early and keep the game separate.
Course is relatively straight forward not too difficult, easy walking. It satisfied my curiosity but that’s it. Doubt if I would return.
A challenging hilly course
It is a good course with some very challenging holes. The 17th hole is very interesting, don't play it long!
Expected more
I was really looking forward to playing Linlithgow, but as we turned up and there was nobody in the pro-shop, I helped myself to the scorecard and went to the first tee.
The club house looks on to both the 1st and 18th greens and looked fantastic. A nice 1st hope to start, and then after that it just felt like a course which had no character.
There are so many courses in the surround areas of Linlithgow, and this one isn’t as good as many of them. Especially for the fee we paid - it just lacked so much.
However, greens were in good condition and there are a couple of nice holes - but don’t think I’ll rush back.
This corse is short but great fun
Great wee course
Good value for money, staff were friendly, it’s was in great condition too
Fairways kept in good length, second cut is deadly though, but great fun, plenty of undulating fairways, so make sure you hit the spots, to get your rewards.
Favourite hole was the fist par 5
Once you play it I think you ll agree it’s a fair hole.
great golf coarse
had a good day out excellent golf coarse great deal with golf now would book again
Excellent day had by all course conditions excellent great day
On Spec
First of all it did not help that it rained for most of the time we were on the course which of course can't be controlled. A bit hilly but well presented and greens were in good shape. Overall decent value for money and on a better day weather wise would probably be a fine day out.
Absolutely great day of golf had by our group of 4. Course in fantastic condition shop staff so friendly and great value for our round
Course in fabulous condition good pace all party really enjoyed their day
Good challenge
Friendly and welcoming club. Good course in good condition - seemingly short par 4 holes will catch you unaware - especially the one with the big tree! Excellent clubhouse with great views and welcoming staff.
We enjoyed playing this course but was disappointed with the conditions of the greens. We found that the cutting of the greens was irregular and some holes had tufts of grass as if the blades were not sharp enough or the operator was inexperienced or careless. However the course was very tidy and good value for money.
Some nice holes
Good value and course in good condition for time of year. Some good quirky holes and 17th is fantastic.
Leisure round at Linlithgow
Hard course to find (even though we could see it from the nearby swimming pool) and the satnav led us badly astray. The pro shop could not have been more friendly and helpful. We had also got a terrific deal to play so great value there.
The first few holes are quite an aerobic challenge, climbing uphill to the top of a hill when it all levelled out. The course is generally quite short but accuracy off the tee is essential and a driver is not always the right tool for the job. I found the back nine more challenging but tiredness may have been creeping in. With seemingly lots of par 3 holes (two even back to back), this course is a lot of fun. The 17th is a little gem - aim right of the green and let the ball roll down. The course was well drained and firm even in mid January. A holed pitch for a birdy 3 on the last hole put the cherry on the top for me and I can’t wait to come back. The barman was also extremely friendly and we loved the hospitality.
So well done Linlithgow GC. Great memories of a most enjoyable round.
Friendly local course
For the weather that has been around the course is in great condition. very friendly pro shop and relatively quiet course at this time of year. Because of the expected snow storm and freezing conditions it was winter greens and mats on the fairway.
