The Haddington Golf Club is a parkland golf course in what was once a country estate. The course sits in a peaceful walled environment, bounded by the River Tyne to the north. The course, which lies within 130 acres, has numerous natural features and a lot of indigenous wildlife - and it challenge all levels of golfer.

The golf course also offers two long par-5s: the 513-yard 11th hole and the 520-yard 13th hole. Haddington Golf Club additionally offers a large practice area.

See the town after your game. Haddington sits off Highway A1, approximately 18 miles to Edinburgh's east, and can be easily reached from Central Scotland and Northern England. The historic burgh offers many historical and architecturally unique restaurants.

Needs a little TLC

The course is playing well in these dry conditions, but the greens need a bit of work, that can be patchy and bumpy. Friendly and helpful staff, and great vfm. Decent bacon roll before playing.

Interesting

Turned up to use the facilities - Practice area a little run down (chipping area) got lots of good balls in the range basket (kept a few). Range okay - greens lightning quick

Overall steady pace of play - great wander around with some interesting views on the front 9, wind didn't help the golf and turned some holes very tough

Greens were quickest I've played on and rolled true - tough to sink putts unless calculated perfectly - had to use the slopes on the course and rolls balls onto the green (no chance of stopping them downwind). 10th was devilishly tricky a sloped 120 yard par 3.

Made for a tough but rewarding golf experience - walking off with par on some holes felt earned.

Pro shop and clubhouse not the best but the course speaks volumes - would recommend to any player for a tough but fair experience.

Haddington challenge

Haddington was a good challenge, course was long and the tees and greens were in great condition. Will be back very soon to see if we can lower our scores.

Good course but still recovering

I played this course probably 30 years ago so essentially considering the changes , this was my first time playing it.

The pro shop staff member was helpful and friendly and let my son and I tee off a bit earlier.

The course was enjoyable to play with some interesting holes , however the condition of the course wasn't the best ,obviously still recovering from a wet winter which is totally understandable, I'll look forward to returning in the summer .

Unluckily there were loads of 4 balls playing the day we were there and it made play painfully slow at times , so we ended up cutting over from the 12th back down the 2nd , then playing 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 and 7 again then calling it a day.

Overall it was an enjoyable round of golf and look forward to popping back in the summer to see it at its best

Decent course

Decent course, staff are ok, course conditions were very soft and waterlogged in places but what can you expect for February. No winter greens which was good.

Good Afternoon Out

This is a lovely parkland course that played really well despite the wintry conditions over the previous few days.

The chap in the pro shop was friendly and helpful as were the members we met on the course.

Will definitely play here again.

Gem of a course

Played this course on 12th January 2025 as we couldn’t get a game at our own course in West Lothian due to snow which it’s been like for about ten days now.

Course layout was good with big undulating greens.

Unfortunately they were solid as it’s been minus temperatures for a while now.

Didn’t defer from the enjoyment of playing this as still on full greens and tees.

We will definitely be back for a round in the better weather.

I would recommend this course to anyone.

Long, wide and scenic

Friendly staff member pointed out the course layout and the map near the 1st tee, and suggested taking a photo of it. As he implied, not really necessary, course well enough signposted. Lovely autumnal day, course in good condition even after heavy overnight rain, with occasional puddles. A few quirky holes, with most long, straight and tree lined. Not too busy, but being a twosome, caught up with a couple of friendly foursomes who let us through at sensible points. Not much over 3 hours for two reasonably fit 70+ golfers. Disappointed not to have time to stop for refreshments in the lounge afterwards. Lovely day out.
