#18, short par 3. Photo submitted by nickesquire on 04/07/2018
Good Value, Great Place for Beginners, Leaves Something to be Desired for Better Players
This course is well maintained and fun to play for a quick round. It can be easily knocked out in 2 hours, and it’s not too crowded. Every hole is very short though. The longest one is 150 yards, so if you hit a 9-iron well you may only use your wedge and putter all day!
We had a good time, the staff was friendly and the price was more than reasonable, but with all the other courses in the desert, I don’t think I’ll be rushing back to this course.
Fun par3
This is our second year of what is now an annual trip. We love the course. It is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful
Palm royale
Walked the Blues (1992/51.8/113) in 2.5H on a GN Hot deal for $16.49 including surcharges. The weather was breezy, clear and in the mid 90's.
Ted Robinson Jr. design. Great course for working on your short irons.
The tees had decent coverage but were what you would expect for a course where almost every player is going to be taking a divot with their irons... pretty chewed up. However, the tees were the only part of the course not well above average.
The fairways and rough do not come into play much on a par 3 layout. However, both were lush and well maintained.
The sand traps were well maintained with good quality sand.
The greens were undulating, firm and smooth. Medium speed, they accepted iron shots well.
Quick, efficient check-in. Walking only, no drink cart, no water stations on the course. I think roughly 15 greens were protected by a lake on this layout set over rolling hills surrounded by homes in a private, gated community. Even though the course is short, I would not recommend it for beginners for that reason. If you cannot consistently get 75 to 115 yard shots in the air and land them relatively close to your target, this course would be a nightmare where you better have a bag of balls. Recommended with the above in mind.
Fun & challenging executive course
I hadn't played golf for several months so chose the Palm Royale Executive Course to get back into the swing (so to speak). Really enjoyed the round. The course was in great shape and is a bit more challenging than a lot of executive courses. Not a big issues but my only complaint was I had planned to grab a bite to eat after the round but the course doesn't have any food services. Water, soft drinks, beer, etc are readily available though.
Great Family Time
It was a great place to take the family and play a few holes together. Some cool holes abs nice challenges. Solid roll on the greens.
A nice little course
It was a beautiful day for a walk on the course. The only problem was the couple golfing ahead of us. They seemed to be beginners and they didn't have any golf etiquette so it made for a very slow game for us. The course was in great shape as always.
First time executive course.
This is a great course to practice one's short game.
Short Game Focus
Great opportunity to practice every part of my short game and to reflect and identify what I need to work on the most. At the same time, the course was in great shape and it didn't beat me up. Left relaxed with energy to spare. Very nice, helpful and different golf experience.
Excellent
The staff was excellent and very accommodating
The course was excellent
Very nice par 3 to practice your short game. Nice layout.
Lost cause.
After being by-passed by the proshop, they wanted to send me out 35 min after my tee time. I was refunded my green fees, but had to “eat” the golfnow fee.
Big waste of time and frustration.
Very
Very pretty- easy to walk - course in good shape but 4 hrs for a par 3 is a tad long - but would recommend- my wife enjoyed being able to make pars
Plesant short course
Beautiful course that is well maintained. Pretty much no additional amenities or available clubhouse. A little golf shop, with good prices, but no restaurant and few snacks. The seeding and mowing was going on while we played making for noisy mowers and then they closed the front nine making the back nine crowded and slow. All in all it was a pleasant but windy afternoon though, beautiful setting!
Great Par, good challenges!
Teed off on time, and good timing of round with little wait between holes. Love the challenges, with a good mix of water and sand to keep a golfer focussed on the short grass! Good maintenance staff, thanks!
Best kept secret!
Great course for beginner or novice golfers. Holes are not challenging allowing golfers to concentrate on technique! Bring extra balls because a lot of water.
