Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

Just slow play , nothing out of the normal

Just slow play , groups in front of us were playing from the blues and it was taking them two sometimes three shots to get out 250 yards, it was just normal everyday bad golf. Not sure how that’s the courses fault but when you play courses like these that’s what you get to play with and around.

Be ready for a 6 hour round

Every time I'm here, the tee times are backed up at least a half hour. They pack them so close together and have no marshals on the course to make sure people stay up on pace of play. Hard to get into any kind of rhythm cuz you're always waiting 10 minutes between shots for the group in front of you. Some of the staff are chill but others are dicks. Would not recommend. I won't be back

Typical Marshall Canyon with some improvements

First of all, it was great to see a new refreshed driving range. Glad they are making improvements to this great course. In a nutshell, this course is always a little rough around the edges, but it's still worth heading up here for the serenity and wildlife. Tee boxes aren't great, rough is not great, but the fairways and greens are pretty good. POP was decent for a Friday afternoon. With all the improvements slowly happening here, I can only assume that they will work on the actual course at some point to clean up a bit and make it better. Love this place, it's still my favorite in the area.

Saturday pace is terrible.

2:20 tee time, 7:40 finish. Probably won't go on a Saturday again.

First Time Playing

Overall the course was in great shape. Really friendly off the tee and really challenging greens. The staff in the clubhouse and cafe were great, even the cart girl was super friendly. The only negative I have to say is the pace of play is horrendous. We teed off 30 minutes late and had to wait on each tee box for the 2 groups in front of us to tee off. It took 3.5 hours to finish 9 holes.

This course is great, the pace of play isn’t

I love Marshall Canyon, been playing it since the early 80’s. The layout and challenge are great. Sometimes, especially of late, the pace of play is crazy. The combination of groups walking, some walking, some riding and all players riding needs to be improved. There were tee boxes with 4 groups waiting to tee off.

The scenery and wildlife on the course is pretty much second to none.
