About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

First time visit
I had a great time with my golf buddy playing 18 holes on a cloudy day. The course layout and condition are good but the green is kind of challenging. A herd of deers all over the fairway is worth mentioning. That's quite a scene in an inner suburb of big LA.

Beautiful course. Staff is awesome
First time here! This course is absolutely beautiful. Plenty of staff. Deer are right on the course but are not a problem at all. This was a wonderful experience. Course was challenging. But in great shape. I will definitely be returning.

Great times
Haven’t played this course in a few years. Wasn’t in the best shape. Huge improvements now though. Comparable to San dimas canyon as far as condition. Greens are in great shape. Definitely worth it and good time. We teed off at 11:00 pace of play was fine.

Good course for its cost
Will be back soon. The course is nice, greens well kept. Simple but has some challenge to it, great for all levels of play.

Love this course but don't tell anyone.
I love this course, it's in the beautiful quiet foothill not to far from my house. Like most golf courses, the fairways could be more plush but the greens are in perfect condition and as you have heard, very challenging . The staff are friendly and the pace is good, I'm not sure why, but it is nice when you tee time comes up and there isn't three foursome still waiting.

VERY NICE TRACK
I'VE BEEN PLAYING THIS COURSE FOR YEARS AND IT'S A VERY TOUGH AND CHALLENGING COURSE. THE GREENS ARE VERY TRICKY. SO, I SUGGEST YOU COME HERE WITH YOUR "A" GAME. AWESOME COURSE !!!!!

Average local course
We were on a golf vacation from out of state, and we booked this course based on a lot of positive reviews. However, the course was little disappointing. It felt like an average local municipal course. The pace was slow and the fairways were too close to each other. I probably will not return to this course next time we visit.

Course
Had a great time, some high winds damage not really in the way but had to hit around it sometimes, deer poop, well that’s expected with so many around. Still it’s a great course with challenging greens.
