About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

Devil is in the Details.
I live in the area and enjoyed playing this course. I have brought customers to enjoy and friends here for sometime. After my last few rounds here I just don't think I will be back for sometime due to the lack of professionalism by their course Marshall. I have witnessed him be disrespectful multiple times to players and recently experienced it. Let me start off with, I do not have any kind of issue with taking instruction but it's all about delivery. This person had an issue with me riding my cart onto a par 5 fairway for some reason, if you golf you know this isn't an issue. I couldn't hear his shouting from across the course then he zoomed up to me and proceeded to yell and be disrespectful. I then told him he needed to calm down and followed his instruction, which didn't make any sense. He then threatened to throw me out because I told him to calm down! This interaction with customers isn't right and just be aware of the skinny white tall 55+ year old guy in the cart looking to pick on you for no reason if you decide to play here. You give someone a little bit of power and all of a sudden they think they have the right to be disrespectful. Very disappointing because I did enjoy coming here.... The cafe staff and cart person was great but someone needs to put that marshell through people skills training. Calm down Goober Patrol!
Course was in better shape than it has been in the past Appears the Ground crew is trying to clean up the course and having some success.. Pace of play was terrible, but expected for a Sunday . Nice to have a cart girl available as the weather was warm

Mountain Fun in the Sun
Great course, fun and exciting. Challenging and relaxing. Full of nature, mountains and scenery. One of my favorite Inland Empire courses

Great course you can play, walking
What I like about this course is these greens.
They are so delusional, and I feel like my ball is rolling up hill going against the gravity sometimes. They are hard to read, but I love them.
The course condition is always great, and I like the hilly layout.
This course is good for the walking round although it’s somewhat hilly here and there.
My friends and me love this course and playing regularly. On weekends. Green fees are very much reasonable. Thanks!

Pleasant place to play
The views are great, pace a little slow, but it was Sunday and exactly what you expect. The greens, 93 degree day, were as nice as I've seen. Hadnt been here in over 4 years. . Course layout is awesome! Definitely will be back. Deer everywhere.

Deceptively Difficult Course
This course would get 5 stars for the local wildlife - but it isn't a category. The course should be called "Dear Run" since there are dear everywhere on this course. Overall the conditions at the course are between average and good. The fairways seem to be a mixture of grasses - with Kikuyu being predominant in most fairways. This is a public course, so don't expect manicured fairways and thick rough. On many holes you can barely tell the difference between the fairways and the rough. What makes this an interesting and difficult course are the changes in elevation - and the fact that you rarely get a flat lie (even in the fairways). The greens are medium/slow - which is a good thing. If the greens were fast, it would be impossible to stop some putts from above the hole. There are a huge variety of holes from flat and straight holes, to holes with elevation changes and 90 degree doglegs. There are also a couple of risk/reward short par 4s, and a couple of difficult par 3s with elevation changes. I really liked the layout of the course - although the dozens of shallow drainage ditches throughout the course were annoying by the end of the round. If you are not used to playing hilly courses, this course will add 5+ shots to your average score. If you can get through the round with only 1-2 three-putts - you have done well. The only real negative takeaway I had from my round was that it took just over 5 hours! This is about 1/2 hour longer than I would like to spend on any golf course - especially when the temps were in the mid 90s.

Imagine everything slow
Slow pace and slow green with no Marshall. Staff is friendly and course condition are ok. Green speed feels like a 6-7 max
