About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

Good Old Marshall Canyon
Marshall Canyon continues to be an above average county golf course. It is a nice layout with very challenging and well maintained greens.. Fairways and tee boxes are okay but not great. The staff working today was very nice and helpful. They have the outside bbq going again and it makes a for a very tasty meal at the turn or after your round.. I started playing this golf course over forty years ago and remains one of my favorites.

Relaxed feel. Played average to slow. But that’s ok. People were nice and friendly.

Fun layout
Overall the course was in good shape. T boxes were pretty solid. Fairways were good. Some dry spots but didn’t really affect play or shot. A ton of dog legs. A lot of jokes you don’t need driver for but if you are accurate you make make the par 4s play really short.. def a ton of ways you can play each hole. Fun course.. the greens are intense with the mountains. Down hill putts can be super slow cause mountain . Best part, a ton of deer running around. I probably saw at least 20 deer just chillin..

Marshall Canyon: Improvements on the course
Since the last time I played there they are making changes on the course. More grass less weeds. The greens where very tricky as always. Good time playing. Great weather and scenery.

nice course, very challenging
nice course, very challenging, good pace of play, lots of deer, course was in good shape, the entire clubhouse is being renovated but there is a snack bar and an air conditioned bathroom trailer...
Unfortunately, i live too far away to play this course very often.

No to 5-somes
Course was in good shape but pace of play was slow. I wish they would not they allow 5-somes to play. Pace of play was too slow for my liking.
