About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,878 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Great hidden Gem!
First time playing The Amelia River Club and will be playing it again! I have played all over the Jax area but this is my first time playing The Amelia River Club and we weren't disappointed. The course conditions were fantastic and the staff was amazing! Found out they have a Performance Center and will be back to get fitted!! The Burger was tasty and the restaurant staff were as friendly as can be! Looking forward to coming bakc!!
Best course we played
Traveled to Amelia for the Summer and played multiple courses on the Island and around Jax and The Amelia River Club was by far the best course we played!! The course conditions were fantastic especially for as hot as it was! We loved the course layout, especially having no homes on the course. The greens were quick and pace of play was great! The staff from beginning to end were so accommodating, friendly and helpful! The Grill staff was fantastic and the food was very good. We did breakfast and lunch there and it was great! We plan on playing again before we leave and will definitely be back next year! I

great location and layout
course conditons were sub par. Greens were recently aearated but fully recovered. were supposed to be really fast, but was notthe case. course appeared in a conditon like you might see in Florida after cooler winter conditions. May have been because of lack of rain in area. areas of sod repairs were ot what you would expect to see. piecies of sod just thrown onto to the gournd with levelling into the surroiding aea. Was not worth the fee charged

Great time!
Had a great time and course was in great shape. I would give all 5’s but there is no water on the course. It was so hot and some water coolers near tee boxes would have been great.

No water coolers on course
Forgot one point in previous review. Make sure to bring plenty of water because there is no water coolers on the course and beverage cart isn’t very quick getting around the course.

Thinking Course
Enjoyed the course very much.
Pace of play was a little slow due to scheduling issues.
It’s a course that you have to check out the layout before you hit. Might be best to hit an iron on some T shots. Not overly long, but required course management to score.
Highly recommend and great value with my Golf Now app.
