About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,878 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Amelia River
I’ve been playing this course for 3 years now and it’s always under some kind of maintenance but that’s a good thing. It gets so much play and they are at least always trying to make it better . For a semi public course , it does have members, it’s an awesome course for the value! The layout I think is great. From the blue tees it’s tough and from the tips unless you’re scratch done even bother. I’m 52 now and don’t hit it as far as I used to so I play the blue/black combo. Their black tees are equivalent to white tees. Play to your ability and pace of play moves at a better speed. I love this course and it’s 8 minutes from my house . Highly recommended!

Great layout with some fun holes!
First time playing here and it was great all the way around. Friendly staff and nice range and practice area and the course was one of the best layouts I've ever played on. Got a little slow before the turn but other than that pace of play was pretty good. Will definitely be going back!

The layout of the course is excellent. It’s in good condition but I wouldn’t pay full price to play. Excellent for the price of a hot deal. Had a great day playing and it was a very challenging course.

The course itself is a very nice layout.
However what really sets it apart are the people who work here, from the bag drop, to the starter and the server at the bar and grill, they are all friendly and welcoming.

Highly recommend this course. Greens are pure. The pace is smooth. Rangers do their job well. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. I’d drive an hour everyday to play this course.
