About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Excellent condition for mid February!
Course was in great shape! Couple pin locations were treacherous, but I blamed it on my paired up playing partner, the recently hired Course Maintenance Mgr, who snuck in 9 quick holes (on his birthday, no less) with us. Fun time with our foursome. Fairways nice and greens were receptive, and rolled nicely. Hope to play it again often before returning home. Kinda pricey unless you’re a local, or schedule a tee time on line at a discounted rate during late afternoon hours. We finished just about sunset time in 4:15 hours.

Thoroughly enjoyed
Greens, fairways, traps: top condition.
Staff is super-nice. I ship-sticked my clubs there, easy pickup. Fast round, no wait til #15.
Winds were often 2 clubs, but was paired with a local who showed the way.
Will play again! (Tomorrow in fact).

Great course with beautiful views
Course in very good condition for season. Greens were a little slow after lots of rain but course drained well. The greens rolled true. We finished round in less than 4 hours and saw a beautiful sunset over the Marsh. Several tee boxes make course challenging for all skill sets. Best semi private course on Amelia Island.

Excellent track
Well maintained and a challenging layout.

Solid Course
I was able to get a great rate via a Golfnow Hot Deal so it was a solid value. The course is solid and in good shape. I was not overly impressed with the layout and because of the individuals I was paired with, played it from the regular tees. From those tees the course is somewhat of a pitch and putt course which of course gets boring. I enjoyed the course but do not consider it an elite course and thus not worth the money unless it was a hot Deal. For example, we played Bent Creek today and it was a better layout and in similar condition. It is a significantly better value.

New pro shop and renovations adds to the experience. Course is in nice shape. Greens were a little slow but true and fair. Possibly due to very cold temps earlier in week. Definitely plan to play again soon. Pace of play was good
