About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Staff as always friendly and helpful. One of the best courses in the area and kept in good shape.
Amazing Recovery
Had a tee time this morning and while we were waiting about an inch of rain was dumped on the course. The drainage for the course was amazing. We teed off about 20 minutes after it started raining and barely ran into any puddles in the greens. Highly recommend!!

Ok - But Kind of Boring
Greens had been punched and sanded. 4-6 footers were an adventure. Maintenance was following me around the course for afternoon watering - they would never chase the Rats like that. Only interesting holes are 9, 16, 17 and 18. Too many short part 4s. But in great shape - except for the greens due to regular maintenance.

Ehhhh
Course is in great shape and layout is fun..only issue I guess they decided they needed to punch greens again for the second time in a month and a half..no warning on site stating they have been punched..played little over a month ago was told after that day they were punching then showed up yesterday and they just had punched again

Stunning
Staff was very friendly. I cannot complain about one thing about this golf course...I take that back...they need a sprinkler system just for golfers to be able to drive through during the round, it was hot out there...lol.
But beautiful course, it wasn't hard in my opinion, but I played very well. It's kinda short so I played the back tee's.

Local Club Feel- resort like conditions
This club is managed well and you can tell everyone on the staff cares about the condition and the guests.
The layout was fun and the conditions are good. A lot of risk and reward here. Might be by favorite course in NE Florida.

Alligator River
This was a fun and challenging course to play. The fairways and tee boxes were pristine. The greens rolled fast but true.

Incredible golf course
While visiting the area with my wife, I decided to play a round at Amelia River Club. I must admit that I was a little anxious upon arrival at the club because I didn’t see anyone that looked like me. But the staff was very friendly, and the gentleman who checked me in me, gave me some tips on how to play certain holes. Once I felt at ease on the back nine, I started to play much better. The entire course and the landscape was in amazing shape. Will definitely play there again.

Very nice course. Definitely get punished if you’re off the fairway. Greens in nice shape, and pace of play was fantastic. Great course for the money.

Excellent Condition
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Many of the wild brush areas have been cut back and groomed that allow some errant shots to be salvageable. New pro shop is also very nice.

Great value
Course was in great shape with top notch service. Saw beverage cart and friendly ranger several times. The new pro shop is very nice. Well worth the drive up from Jacksonville to take advantage of the Florida resident rate.

Beautiful Alligator Creek
From the moment I stepped out of my car. I was met with kindness. The starter made sure I had the course layout and knowledge about several holes. I ordered lunch and it was ballpark level.
The greens, fairways were in excellent condition. It was well worth the price.

Nice layout, great condition
Very nice layout and excellent choice of tees. Excellent condition on the course showing it has been well cared for. The greens roll true and the speeds were consistent, greens were excellent. We played with a very nice member Byron who shows us the lay of the land. Everyone who worked there was warm and I would love to play again.
