About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Excellent layout
We were paired with a wonderful retired couple who were members and they helped us a lot in knowing where to hit our shots. We liked the layout. Had a lot of challenging holes and some that without the wind would be considered easy. Definitely recommend playing the course.

Fun layout- good conditions!
This is one of the more player friendly layouts in North Florida. Love the fact that there are no houses or condos anywhere near the course. A wide range of tee boxes gives everyone the right level of challenge. It's gotten a little pricy lately but the new management has made some excellent improvements that more than justify the cost. I live in downtown Jacksonville so. This is a bit of a hike, but will definitely keep it on my rota of 4 - 5 really good tracks in the area.

Great Track!!
This course was a lot of fun, the course was in fantastic shape and the greens are amazing!! Staff were very friendly and accommodating!! The Bar and Grill was a great place to grab lunch and a beer afterwards. Definitely will be playing again!

I have not played there since last year. Nice improvements overall from club house to fairways to greens. I will play the course again

Another wonderful trip
Took a few of my work friends on a golf day..no other choice for me than Amelia River. The staff is perfect, course played very well, including the nicest tee boxes and greens to putt on. I got to take my father a Lil bit ago prior to his heart attack, and it's just as nice. Thanks to the staff and crew keeping it nice! I will be back next weekend!
