The Amelia River Club

The course is in pretty good shape considering the back and forth weather the last few weeks, the greens are thick and slow right now but that is preparation for the spring cut and play should shape up nicely in the next few weeks. Can’t wait to play it again and get my revenge on a few of the holes that got the better of me ( couple of dbl boogies). 👍🏽👍🏽

Amelia Rivee is a fun course to play. It’s not overwhelmingly difficult yet has several challenging holes. It is in good condition with the exception of two greens that are plagued with Poa Anna grass.

It was our first time in over two years since we played here. What a change in everything. The course was always decent, but at best average. Now, I barely recognized it. Vast improvements in course conditions and infrastructure. I can see why it gets the prices it does; fortunately we caught a Hot Deal. Really spread out for a course NOT built in a home development or resort with backyards lining the fairways. The small plane airport adjacent to several holes is sort of cool in its own way. Other than two greens with some emergent poa, the greens were especially nice, as were tees and fairways. Rough still not up as I think it’s too early for the type of grass. Plan to play again soon. Worthy of consideration for membership if I lived here. We only vacation in Amelia 6-8 weeks a year Feb - April timeframe. 4 Stars only for pace of play - but it was Sunday afternoon. There was a ranger who was a nice guy for sure and helpful and found your lost ball (if he has to ask three times if you lost a ball then …….!). We played in 4:15 hours so nothing to complain about - more about a tired foursome ahead who fell behind and sat in their carts while someone hit. You know those folks. Again it was Sunday.

Great value for money. 2 greens had a little weed problem causing putts to move weirdly. Other than that great layout and challenging if you want to play it risky for a birdie. Highly recommend.

My second time playing this course. Look forward to next year. Greens, fairways, tee boxes, bunkers all well maintained.. Greens a little faster than I’m used to.

Once again the course didnt disappoint. Always tough when the wind is blowing. Greens were receptive and rolled consistently....number 5 green needs a little attention.

Staff always pleasant and look forward to next round.

This may be the best option for a serious golfer at Amelia Island, FL. They have an excellent facility with amazing and friendly staff. Despite still being early on the season, the course was in excellent condition with open and well designed fairways, well-maintained bunkers, and fast greens.

My first time playing here. The staff in the pro shop and restaurant were all very friendly. We teed off on time and the pace moved quickly. That’s rare for 12:45 on a Sunday in peak season. The course was nothing special but good condition for the $65 price I paid. Greens and fairways were pretty good but the rough and areas around the greens could be better. I would play here again.

Loved the course!! Challenging but an enjoyable experience. Greens are fast and tough to putt.

Couple complaints though. Our tee time was the last to get off before club championship tournament. Pace was a bit slow and had ladies complaining to the Range Master of our slow play even though we had groups in front and couldn’t play any faster. They should have done tournament in the morning and tee times after. Also took 25 min to get 4 hot dogs at turn. Hot dogs are $10.50 a piece!!!!! That’s ridiculous!!

Need to do a better job on the collars/skirts of the greens. Seemingly having trouble growing grass consistently in these areas and have spray-painted some of the edges with green paint. Maybe it’s just a seasonal thing.

Good layout and really friendly staff

This seemed like a higher end Course to me. Even the drive in from the road was spectacular. The practice area was very nice (pay for balls if you want them) There was some dormant grass in the rough but played off season, expected. The greens and the fairways were great. There was one green near the airport (Par 5) that had some odd grass or weed coming through that caused the ball to plinko when putting but the others were mint. Good sand and in the bunkers. The layout was well thought out with generous fairways and some risk reward holes. Saw a few Gators laying about as well. Hole #17 reminded me of TPC Sawgrass in its design. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Had a burger and the food was also good and others peoples meals also looked delicious. Great experience, do not hesitate to play this course.
