About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Vacay golf
Course is in ok shape - a lot of repairs around the greens. . The range is not in good shape .. almost no grass. Overall a pleasant experience and challenging course.

I’ve really liked this course since the first time I played it in March and have coming back ever since. Staff is great and I’ve noticed they have been trying to improve conditions. It’s night and day since March. My only gripe is the pace of play. Slow on Fridays and weekends. I would recommend z

Best course on Amelia Island
Played The Amelia River Club for the first time and couldn’t believe what a great course this is! From start to finish had a great experience. The cart staff greeted me upon my arrival and set me up. The young man was very pleasant and helpful. The pro shop staff, starter, Bev cart and restaurant were very friendly and welcoming! The course itself was very fun. It had a great layout and was a fun challenge. The course conditions were great, by far the best on the island and I couldn’t say more about the greens. Best greens I’ve putted on in Northeast Florida. The course has no homes which is very refreshing and rare for a Florida course. I love their #17 signature Island green, which will remind you of another Island green in North Florida. If you come to Amelia Island, I highly recommend The Amelia River club!!

Great condition
They have some areas around the greens where they are replacing the grass but other than that the course is in great shape

Great Course & Will Return
We played on 7.21.2021 great layout, challenging and in very nice condition. Had a short rain delay (actually a Florida down pour), but finished. The course drained quickly and was playable.
This course is beautiful and no houses on the course.

Fantastic value
Played 7-15-21. Course in fantastic shape. Pretty remarkable considering tropical storm Elsa rolled through 10 days ago. Tees and fairways were excellent. Greens were smooth and consistent. Tee sheet is fairly open in afternoon due to heat. Michael on the outside, Rick in the shop, Randy the starter, and Lindsay the cart girl were all super nice. Top notch facility. Highly recommend.

Great Experience
The entire staff from Pro-shop, starter, bar and refreshment cart girl were friendly and accommodating. The course was in great shape and the food and bevs were delicious!

Excellent golf course
This is an excellent golf course. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. There was water on a few holes to provide some challenges.

Great staff and course in better shape than last year
I played here for the second time last year was the first during Covid season
The staff was very friendly and accommodating The course was in very good shape and the pace of play was right at 2hrs for nine
