An average experience at best
I recently played at this course, and overall, it was just okay. The conditions were what you’d expect from a typical municipal course—nothing egregiously bad but also nothing that stood out as exceptional. The greens, fairways, and bunkers were all in average shape, which is fine for casual play but not noteworthy.
The layout of the course was extremely flat and quite basic. On the bright side, there aren’t many hazards, so you’re unlikely to lose balls—one or two at most for the entire round. However, the lack of features also makes the course feel plain and unexciting. If you’re looking for a memorable or challenging experience, this isn’t the place.
The pace of play was a major downside. We were stuck behind a very slow group that didn’t seem to care about how long they were taking. It felt like they either weren’t serious about golf or were just new to the game. Unfortunately, this seems to reflect the clientele the course attracts—players who might not prioritize pace or etiquette. It made for a frustrating experience.
As for the amenities, the clubhouse was nothing special. It wasn’t in bad shape, but it didn’t leave any lasting impression either—it felt low-quality overall. The one staff member I interacted with was polite but not particularly memorable, while the drink cart attendant was very friendly, which was a nice touch.
The biggest disappointment was the price. At $70-$80 for the round, including the cart, it felt grossly overpriced for the experience. The course quality and overall experience were more in line with what I’d expect from a $40 round. Unless they significantly drop their rates to around $35-$45, I wouldn’t return.
Coupeval
Greens were good. Fairways not so much. Bunkers were much improved from past rounds.
Some fairways and bunkers are as hard as cement. Greens were aerated about 5 weeks ago but are still recovering. Some tee boxes need to be mowed down. There are definitely better places to play for the money.
Worst Condition course i’ve ever played
This may have possibly been the worst course i've ever played in my life. Conditions were horrible, grounds crew ON THE GREEN while play. Just a disgrace to the world of golf. Charging $58.00 for 18 holes. I quit after 9 and had a chat with the head professional who told me they refuse to refund me the back 9's portion of payment and that this is what i get for playing a public course.
I'm surprised this head pro has developed any sort of customer relations in the state of California.
Here's a picture of the first hole. I would kindly recommend nobody to play here unless you'd enjoy paining yourself through a round of golf.
Terrible conditions & management
Paid for 18 and when I got to course only 9 holes were open & there was more sand on those greens than there was in the traps.
Paid for 18 holes, was only allowed to play 9.
I have been playing this course for years with generally good experiences for the most part. The management is callous and indifferent to the needs of the general public. Today I checked in and was told to start on the back 9 as the front was being aerated. I asked if I could repeat the back nine and was told to return to the pro shop at which point they said no. The high school groups have priority, but I can come back in 2 hours and pay again to complete the 18 holes that I already paid for. I will be very careful in the future when dealing with this uncaring and flippant staff.
Only 9, not 18
Reserved noon tee time through GolfNow for 18 holes with cart on Hot Deal. Got to the course and was told I will only play 9 due to aeration. Asked staff why there was no information this tee time reservation was not for 18. Their response was GolfNow is a third party app and it is not their problem that this occurred and I will have to resolve with GolfNow. There was no acknowledgement of how a golfer may be disappointed to learn this at the course. Had I known this ahead of time, I would have played elsewhere, and not here. The issue is not the course aeration but the staff of the place simply dismissing your disappointment and treating you like a fool for using GolfNow to book a tee time.
Not great shape right now
I have been playing Alondra for quite a while. This is definitely the worst conditions I’ve seen it in in a while. I played early this morning and greens were super bumpy and there were standing water in the fairways as well as most of the bunkers. There’s quite a bit of dirt patches in the fairway.
