A Fun Par 3
Alondra is a fun 18 hole, Par 3.
Great for beginners, and to work on your short game.
New in town
Hadn’t been here before and decided to stop and play on my way home. Course was nicer than I expected. A few dry spots and hitting off of mats but overall I would play again.
Walking only on the par 3 but it was a pretty easy course to walk
A day at Alondra
It's a nice beginner's course. You can play with just irons. The tee areas and mats could use a little love.
Nice 18 hole par 3
This is the only 18 hole par 3 I know around here and it’s a good one. Played it many times before.
Good practice
95 - 175 yard holes / small & fast greens / lots of great chipping practice
Good irons and short game practice spot
This little par 3 is an excellent place to practice your irons and short game. The greens are tiny postage stamp greens that are mostly elevated so it makes it hard to hit. Each hole has a pretty narrow fairway too. The elevated greens also make it a great short game practice spot. The main drawback is the crazy layout that leaves you wondering where the next hole is. Also, bring a rangefinder because the distances on the signs are not to be trusted. Overall pretty challenging and a good place to hone your skills.
Confusing Layout in Desperate Need of an Upgrade
This little course is a fair place for beginning golfers, or casual players wanting to work on their short game. The greens are tiny and several are slightly elevated, so it is difficult for an intermediate or advanced player to stick the green off the tee. From this standpoint the course has potential as a moderately challenging par 3.
One problem is that the layout is very confusing, especially the first few times you play there. Most of the signage is either rusted out or missing altogether, so first-time visitors will find it disorienting, as the direction of the next tee box is usually an awkward trek past other tees, before you find the right place. Again, with the inadequate signage, you may need to ask other golfers for help finding the right tee. The tee boxes are square concrete slabs, sitting on large patches of bare dirt. At least putting some wood chips down around the tee boxes might help a little. The tee mats are all pretty badly played out, and it doesn't appear that they get cleaned often. The condition of the course is fair at best. The appearance would be improved with some tree trimming and removal, especially some dead palm trees that are just giant ugly stumps at this point. Most serious players will choose the adjacent long course at Alondra which is in much better condition, or the driving range or practice areas which are decent. But the par 3 is, sadly, pretty ghetto. Some players carry radios or boom boxes, and empty beer bottles are everywhere. There appears to be little proactive supervision from management, a marshal, etc. You may want to bring the starter's phone number with you, in case you have problems with drunk or rude players, which I have encountered there. I suppose you get what you pay for...but even a miserable par 3 deserves more maintenance than this course is getting. They need to install new signage at the tee boxes and greens, replace and maintain the mats, and take some pride in the landscaping.
Fun course but pace of play is so backed up and the staff doesn’t do nothing about it. The greens were decent for what you pay for. Teeing off mats sucks
Pretty Fun Course
The course was fun and the small greens presented a good challenge. It was hard determining green speeds. Wish it was off the ground instead of mats. Overall had a good time with my brother here and would probably play again.
Great place for kids
This is a good little golf course, just wish the tee boxes were a little better. Good place to bring kids. Only $4
Chill golf course
I’m not the best golfer and so I love Alondra because everyone is relaxed and.friendly and patient.
