Girvan
About
Girvan Golf Course is one of eight fine courses owned and managed by South Ayrshire Council. Although a municipal course it provides the only golf in Girvan and there is a thriving independent local club with the members having facilities within the municipal clubhouse.
The course, lying on the northern outskirts of the town, is unusual in that it is divided into two distinct parts. The opening eight holes are pure links, immediately adjacent the coastline, and the second ten holes are parkland. This latter part has the added problem of the river, from which the town takes its name, winding through the land. Care should be taken on the ninth tee, as this hole is named after the gentleman who stepped back to admire a good drive only to take an unscheduled dip in the river.

Great course plenty scenery especially front
Fab course for all golfers, have played this course many times and it always delivers also love the finishing hole
Great Course For Holiday Golf
The welcome by the starter was warm and friendly and he took time to explain the layout of the course.
It is obvious that the course is suffering from lack of financial investment but despite this it was in reasonable condition and the bunkers were well maintained. The layout is good with some interesting holes to maintain your interest.
We had a drink in the clubhouse afterwards and once again the welcome was friendly but, like the course, it badly needs financial investment.
All in all a very enjoyable day, great value for money, and we would certainly recommend it to any golfer visiting the area.
Unbeatable for Value for Money
£40/£50 golf course for £14. Definitely recommend
Great course. Worth a play.
Good course. A links and parkland in one. Well kept and interesting.
Not as good as I had been told
Got told course was decent so booked it for Sunday 16th Feb weather was perfect good day for golf
Although got to the course look pretty decent although got told full 18 were on temp green’s and didn't understand why as no frost and the couples before was decent weather, we drove nearly an hour and there wasn’t anything to say about temp greens
The normal greens look in really good condition so put a damper on the golf
Then you have really slow play which was horrendous but you can’t blame the course for that
The other aspects of the course were good the layout etc the staff
So maybe need to try it another day
Good value
Great views on first 8 holes other 11 topical parkland
Great variety from links to parkland
Friendly welcome , very reasonably priced, course and greens in excellent condition. 1st 8 holes links style holes 10 to 18 parkland.
Pace of play excellent our 2 ball played 18 holes in 3 hrs .
Pristine Condition
Absolute fantastic condition of a course, honestly got to say one of the best iv played on, well done to the green keeper and all the staff. Keep up the excellent work. No rubbish, no broker tees on the tee boxes. Fairways and greens in great condition.
A wonderful surprise!
Had very low expectations when making this booking but we all thoroughly enjoyed what we would describe as a hidden gem!! Ridiculously good value for money. Can’t wait to come back. The first 8 holes were a complete joy and then the other side of the course posed many (different) challenges. The par 3’s 🥰🥰
Lesure golfer
Enjoy playing this course, noticed the bunkers were in excellent condition and greens have been managed well. Well done to the whole team.
Alot of fun
Tricky course played on a calm sunny day really enjoyed
The links front 9 and back parkland nine
3 wood all you need around here but hazards around and small greens if your not accurate
Great course and improoves your short game
Greens better than robert the bruce at turnberry
Credit to greenstaff and helpfull man in starters hut
Gem of a course
A good introduction for anyone to links golf. First 8 holes are links; last 10 are park. Course was in superb condition - tees, fairways and greens.
