Great First impressions
First time visiting the course and I liked it. For someone new into golfing it was the right amount of challenging however I'm not a massive fan of the amount of blind holes. I'm sure I will learn to love them.
Would have been a 5 star but play was a little slow on the day we visited. Maybe that isn't the norm.
Met some members on the way round who were friendly and supportive. Would reccomend to a friend and will be back for sure.
Excellent Course
Excellent course, great layout, hospitable staff on arrival, fantastic value for money. Thank you.
Nice course, shame about some members
Unfortunately on the day we played the course there were winter greens in operation, but it was still an enjoyable round. Despite asking in the clubhouse we were advised we didn’t need to play from mats. That is until a member rather rudely and angrily told us this when playing the 5th. We had no issue playing from mats but the way this member told us was extremely rude and aggressive. Thankfully the other members we encountered were polite and welcoming, but attitudes like this are what hold the game back.
We are both keen to come back and play, ensuring next time the weather allows us to fully enjoy what the course has to offer!
Hidden gem
A perfect day out, enhanced by beautiful late summer weather. Course with beautiful views from the first tee. Beautifully maintained. Busy but didn’t detract from the experience. Friendly people.
A Welcoming Course
Within easy travelling distance from Glasgow city centre.
A friendly welcome from the Pro whose shop is well-stocked. He was also around to serve us with the mandatory bacon rolls and coffee before our round!
Two of us teed-off on a pleasant sunny morning to play the course for the first time. We enjoyed the course .... don't be fooled by the number of par threes ....... it is still a fair challenge for most golfers and is situated in very pleasant countryside.
Great course I've played here before and enjoyed it so much that I had to come back and give it another go although the weather has not been great recently the course was in great condition only disappointment there were three winter greens in play which unfortunately the green keeping staff hadn't informed the club pro but other than that minor hiccup thoroughly enjoyed my day here recommend this course to anyone
Amazing
Amazing course and set up and great value for money and a little gem
Greate day at Balmore
Greate, juicy green grass, well kept greens, wide, high views and beautiful weather. It can't be better!
A gem
This is one of the finest courses I have played, £25 on golf now and some of the best greens I have ever putted on, the layout is a amazing, the undulations on the fairways is brilliant, the lies on the fairways were perfect, the greens were so small you have to be so accurate, it is not a long course but you have to be so accurate of the tee, I recommend all levels of golfer must play this course, you will be shocked and stunned how good this is.
Beautiful course
I have played this course a few times now and it is honestly one of the best courses around Glasgow. The greens are fantastic and the course drains really well in the wet, but is stunning when the sun finally comes out. Highly recommend playing a round here.
Hidden gem
Great, scenic little course in wonderful condition throughout. Not long, but a true test of short game with fast, true (and tricky)greens. Lots of par 3s but they were a particular highlight. Course almost deserted when I played. Practice facilities superb but bring your own practice balls. Clubhouse a little old fashioned by modern standards but locker room facilities very nicely done. I’ll definitely be back.
Fantastic course - well maintained
Would highly recommend this course to anyone. It is very well maintained and good to play on.
As you'll see from the reviews, I've given everything a 5 except course layout. There are 3 holes half way round, that cross over each other. Can be a bit busy when all holes are in use (only criticism)
