Excellent course

First time playing. Quality and speed of greens was very good, the rough wasn't to harsh to deal with and the fairways were very well kept. No par 5s on the course which makes it interesting to play on. Most par 4s are reachable in two. Views are very nice all round the course. The scoops at the side of hazards are very helpful to have at getting the balls out of the water. Clubhouse was very nice inside and the food was at a good price. The driving range is a good size, so is the chipping area and putting green. Overall I would highly recommend playing the course and would definitely play again.

Great day !

Balmore golf course is a fantastic course , me and a friend played it for the first time and would highly recommend a visit to the course .

It’s hidden away and very beautiful , the course was in fantastic condition, the greens did not disappoint .

We did go on Easter weekend and finished our round around 4.30 so we would have liked some food but understand why the kitchen may have been closed .

All in all it was a cracking day out and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Course in great condition and holes good design for average golfer. Not long so big hitters might be restricted to drive and wedge!

All the gear but no idea

This was my 1st time playing Balmore Golf Club, having read great reviews on it. As I was out for a quick round by myself I selected what was showing as a quiet time on the system. So I will start with all the many positive points. Great staff, lovely course with immaculate greens, great facilities including an amazing practise area, all in a terrific setting. Now.. i aint no tiger woods, i play off of 21...but i really think clubs should start to vet players and check they actually have some sort of golf handicap (other than their clubs) or are at least members of a club. In fact just anything to show they have an idea of the etiquette of golf!. The 2 'players' in front of me did not hit one fairway all day and even though I was standing alongside them at every tee, they did not even look in my direction, they did not ring one bell at any of the holes with blind shots and did not shout 4 when almost nailing me with a 'drive'. I know clubs need income.....but come on.....these 2 guys were a total nightmare and spoiled what could have been a great 2.5hrs on the golf course and not the 4 it took me !!! Yes, 4 hours to go round a short par 66 course. Total nightmare.

Great golf experience

The course is in great condition as you might expect towards the end of June. No par 5s on this course so the 66 is a real challenge. Some of the par 3s are really difficult and you do well to get down in three.

Well worth a visit.

Gem

This has to be one of the best courses I have played this year. Well maintained course with challenging par 3s. Friendly staff both off course and on it. I will definitely be back to play this one.

Brilliant Balmore!

Made very welcome at the pro shop and clubhouse. Pro made us a morning coffee! Course was n very good condition although the greens could have done with a cut. Very picturesque with no par 5's and 6 par 3's. Some quirky holes with shared and cross-over fairways but a good range of different challenges. Early on four of the first 5 holes are around 400 yards. All in all a great day's golf and we intend to return.

An enjoyable course for all

Had a lovely day at Balmore. My daughter and I were met by a club representative who made us welcome. Tee off tome was bang on and we got round in 3 hours 30 minutes. Course was in good order and fun to play. A few blind holes are included so would hope to score better on my next visit.

Balmore

Played this course on Saturday 17th March after a week of prolonged rain/snow but you would never have known. I was expecting the worse but conditions underfoot were totally fine. I think there was only one wet area we came across during our round.

On the day we played it was very cold with occasional snow showers but both myself and my playing partner had a fantastic mornings golf at Balmore.

I would highly recommend this course and can imagine it would be superb on a warm summers day.

Good short, varied course

Course was in great condition and was excellent value for money. If I hadn't got a deal though, I doubt if I would have paid the full green fees. Preferred the front 9, the two back-to-back par 3s at 15 and 16 crossing over each other didn't do it for me, but 18 is a lovely hole. Course looked great in the autumn colours.
