Needs a great deal of work
I played the course today and was very disappointed the pro gave me a heads up that the green need more watering - that was an understatement - I would say that many of the greens need an overhaul, unplayable -yes the dry spell had taken it toll but there are more underlying issues on the greens - bare areas large parts of turf on the middle of greens, bits chopped out of edge of green with GUR on putting surface.
In addition gravel on fairways of hoke 2 and all bunker look if they’ve not had attention for months if not longer.
I paid around £45 on a hot deal via Golf now and the views are stunning but left feeling if I had paid full price £75 I would have been very disappointed for the current condition.
Needs a good bit of rain which will assist with some of the issues.
Tremendous Value
Very accommodating team, offered me various times, great layout, tremendous views, outstanding value overall, will be back
Overpriced for condition
Most greens are in terrible condition and bald in loads of places with one having a massive piece of turf unevenly laid into it. If you are thinking about playing this course wait until at least July and phone ahead and ask about green conditions. Most expensive course that I have played this year and by far the one in the worst condition. Not value for money at all.
Sunday golf
I took my son to play at Gleddoch GC as I had the pleasure of playing it during the summer months. We were not disappointed in all the course had to offer from staff friendliness, course layout and condition to pace of play. It was indeed a great day out and excellent value for money on the Golf Now app. We’ll be back👍🏌️♂️
The green condition was disappointing with pitch marks, bear areas and patchy grass. The last 5 holes had to wait on every shot. The layout is challenging for a visitor, many hidden ditches, dog legs and blind shots.
Great course. Stunning views
I was looking forward to playing this course for a while now and it did not disappoint. Greens and Fairways we're in great shape. Hope to get back soon.
Very impressed
Enjoyed every minute. Course is interesting, varied and scenic, and in very good condition. Expect a workout though because the elevation changes are quite marked. Excellent practice facilities. Clubhouse a very pleasant place for a post round drink. All in all unbelievable value for the price I paid, but wouldn’t have felt short changed paying full price. Highly recommended and will be back.
Golf course
A brilliant golf course, a bit hilly but great to play on views onto the Clyde is amazing
Gleddoch Perfection
Top course. well kept. Greens amazing. Views and features on every hole. Very good value for the money.
Top notch all round. I will be back and that's me saying that...not Arnold!
Excellent views over the Clyde Estuary
A bit hilly and open to the weather. Winds on the day were very strong and made golfing difficult.
Returned 5 years later....
Played today 13th November, course is in great condition for the time of year and massive improvements since I last played over 5 years ago.
Enjoyed the round and pace of play, I would like to note that as visitors we were made very welcome.
Pro was great and provided some good detail regarding the course, also provided us with a small bag of tees and divot repair! Good touch, would be good if all golfers fixed there own divots. I lost count how many I fixed, not the golf clubs fault but ignorant golfers not taking 5 seconds to fix.
Overall it was a great day and will definitely return / potentially would join as a member.
Only down fall was the price of a pint of cider and a small glass of coke haha.... Be warned!
Stunning views
A warm welcome in the well stocked Pro Shop. Each hole presented a different challenge, most having stunning views over to Dumbarton Castle, and further up to Ben Lomond. For the time of year, and given recent poor weather the course was in excellent condition. Really enjoyed and would definatelh visit again
What a difference the day makes
Played this course a few times. It is now in the best condition I have ever seen it. Great to play and some spectacular views over the Clyde. The scenery definitely adds to the experience. Perfect course for a sunny day, less obvious in the mist or rain. Views come at a price though as you have to climb the hills to get them. Most slopes are gradual so perfectly walkable for able golfers but would recommend a trolley or buggy for anyone with mobility issues.
Very slow pace
Played here for the first time with a friend.
Got paired up with two others, however when they learned that we hadn't been playing long they wanted to play ahead (fair enough). However they were playing at a snail's pace and eventually there was a big queue behind us.
Due to the freezing cold weather / fog and their pace of play, it was dark before we could finish our round.
Slow Pace & Freezing Cold
Played this course for the first time with a friend. On arrival we were paired up with two people we'd never met.
We're relatively new to golf and due to this, they asked if they could play ahead of us. Fair enough. But they ended up playing very slow and causing a queue behind us as well.
We had to give up at the 15th hole since it was getting dark and there was a freezing fog.
Seems like they just cram as many people into a 4 ball as they can without letting anyone know. The two in front were holding up the pace of play and wouldn't let anyone play through.
