Kinghorn Golf Club
About
Forget the golf, visit Kinghorn Golf Club for the views. Okay, maybe you don't want to forget the golf altogether, but you'll certainly want to pack a camera along with your golf clubs. Located in Fife, this 18-hole links golf course plays with a backdrop of the Firth of Forth. From the course you can see the Forth Bridge, Edinburgh and its landmarks, and Bass Rock.
The course at Kinghorn Golf Club is 5,166 yards and a par 65. You get tested right away on No. 2, a 219-yard par 3 that's trickier than it looks, what with an uphill shot that's normally straight into the wind. No. 3, another par 3, offers not a metaphoric wall but a literal one. Your tee shot has to clear it and stop on the green.
There are no par 5s at Kinghorn, but maybe there should be. The par 4s waver from the short - a 262-yard sixth that relies on you hitting your drive to the right place and your second shot accurately - and the ridiculously long, like the 462-yard eighth. Here you have to hit it long, but avoid the out of bounds on the left and hold on the sloping fairway.
Eight and No. 13 are generally considered the hardest at Kinghorn Golf Club. Thirteen - nicknamed "Lang Whang" - is a 439-yard par 4. The length is manageable, it's the "hitting into the wind" part that makes it tough. You finish on 18, the menacingly named "Cryin' Hill," a challenging 196-yard par 3.
Kinghorn Golf Club was founded in 1887, making it one of the oldest golf courses in Scotland. Starting as a nine-hole course, the final nine were finalized in 1947.

Great course, amazing views
Great course, short overall but very tricky as some holes are blind, overall its an amazing course
Course closed with no previous notice or contact from the club after travelling an hour to get there
87 first time out, thatl do!!
Came to play Kinghorn with my son who hasn’t long started playing golf, iv played since I was a kid but intermittently in the last 15years, been getting back in to it slow but sure.
We loved our our round at Kinghorn, we were burst after 7 holes ngl, the front 9 is a proper challenge but a good one, the back 9 eases off and flattens out a bit with some great scoring opportunities, the views are absolutely spectacular on every hole on the course, bonnie Scotland at its finest!
Will most definitely be back with a Sherpah for the front 9
I jest, absolutely beautiful course and a fantastic challenge for all levels of golfer.
I was tempted at a shot from the white tee on the 18th, just wow!
Go visit Kinghorn people, you will not be disappointed!
See you soon
Thank you for a great day out with my son
Great
Fabulous great price great course a bit short but suited myself who's getting on a bit.
Brilliant
Great course, fantastic condition. Highly recommend
Amazing course
I played Kinghorn around 6 weeks ago in blustery conditions and had a nightmare. Yesterday was different gravy in the sun with very little wind. Gorgeous Links golf and I was 12 shots better off this time around. Loved it
A proper hidden gem in the heart of Fife.
This course is a proper steal at under £30, a course with history and a testing layout. It isn't the longest with no par 5's off the regular tee box, which add to the character - for the big hit and hoper it will be a test for the long irons.
The course on the day was running very fast, true to its links title. No hole is the same with the front 9 and closing 3 holes being particularly pleasant to play. Each hole requiring a little strategy when the greens were so fast with the warm weather we have had.
I would recommend this course to anyone in the area. It is far better than some of the traditional St Andrews links courses (that would be 5 x the price) and we werent rushed round by golfers on buggies which is always a bonus.
Good course
Course was lovely, ground was very dry so greens were very fast and firm but overall good course
Kinghorn
First time playing a links course. Wow . The ball was never where I thought it was , tough but enjoyable
Kinghorn Golf Club
A great wee course.
It was good value for money (voucher)
My only complaint is. The tees could be better signposted, as we got mixed up a couple of times.
Really friendly vibe from the clubhouse & the members.
I would definitely go again.
Great value
It's quirky for sure but great fun . The views are fabulous . There are a few holes which share a wide fairway with a different hole but we didn't mind at all . We would thoroughly recommend it and great for the price
Kinghorn review
Played today course was in excellent condition for the time of year . Only criticism was the speed on the 12 th and 18 th greens mayb they should b watered as they were really ridiculously quick apart from that very enjoyable day out .
Bargain
This course for the fee you pay is unbelievable value. Some fantastic views and had plenty fun. Will definitely be back.
Winter Links
Course conditions great for a very cold February day. Full greens which played fast. Short course but challenging in places. Only criticism is that the layout is confusing as this was my first time here. Played to the wrong green once, but luckily a friendly member helped me out.
Great
Quirky course lay out. Greens were exceptional. Course dry considering The amount of Rain and playing in January.
Excellent value.
Some of the best greens you’ll play for well under £20
10/10 even with winter tees , be back in the summer
