Scoonie Golf Club

About
Given its seaside location overlooking picturesque farmland to the north and the Forth Estuary to the south, golfers would expect Scoonie Golf Club to be a traditional links layout but it is actually a parkland course. The stunning views of the surrounding countryside contrast nicely with the views of the sea. Long hitters might be disappointed since the golf course is quite short at 5,494 yards with the longest hole only reaching to 430 yards. It is a tight layout that is tough but fair. Accuracy is a necessity since players can find themselves facing a handful of problems from going even just a little wide. The club proudly boasts well manicured fairways and greens that are maintained to the highest standard. It is because of the excellent conditions that Scoonie Golf Club has garnered quite a following.

Scoonie golf course, Wow
It is a very nice not too long course, perfect greens.
Staff is very friendly and give you the feeling as if are a member. Will def. play this course again.
Unbelievable Value
Hard to believe this James Braid course is available at such great rates. Clubhouse is nothing fancy and after a straight forward opening hole the layout improves. Not sure how well the course plays in wet conditions as some areas were damp. Excellent links-like turf provides very good fairways and greens. Tees not as well maintained but amazed and disappointed to see so many players wandering over them with trolleys. This was even done over first tee by players heading for the car park!!!
played 10 holes because of my health condition but that was perfect for me
A day in the sun
Relatively flat course with the 13th signature hole quite quirky. We enjoyed a good Suuny day as we plotted our way around this course. Not the longest course we have played but really enjoyable. We had a nice welcome from starter and were allowed to start early. It's quite a good alternative to the nearby links course which you will see from time to time as you make your way around. Greens were quite good and ran quite quickly. As stated a really enjoyable course and the wide fairways make it quite easy to get around. The 13th is definitely our favourite hole.
Great value
Nice course with excellent greens. Not overly challenging so perfect for a part time hacker like me!
Great course, greens were lovely and great value for money
I first started golf at Scoonie some 60yrs ago,and found it to still be in very good condition. The greens were excellent and it was great to return. Although I'm a member of a private golf club now,, I would certainly return here again, possibly joining the club, as private club fees are rising at an alarmjng rate, and being 74 it would make sense.
Great value great greens.
Greens were in great condition and amongst the best I have played on.
Great course
Great little course with some challenging holes as well as some driveable par 4s to get score moving. Good course for all abilities and good value for money. The wind when we played made it a challenge. Friendly pro and shop.
Last minute round
Had a really enjoyable round with my wife.
If you are in the area it’s worth a round.
First time at Scoonie
Played in the Open Comp on 4 Aug and thoroughly recommend it.
I paid £15 to play a course which should be charging three times this amount. I understand its £18 online to play in the afternoons which is just brilliant value for money.
Its undulating at times and not long with each hole being different. Its quite quirky in places too and the rough was quite challenging.
Overall the course was in great condition - greens especially so nothing but compliments from me. Some good views across the Forth estuary on some holes as well.
Ample car parking and everyone in the clubhouse I met (bar staff, pro, members and some non golfing visitors) were really friendly.
If you are in the area then I recommend you book for a great 3 hours round Scoonie.
I saw there is a Open Scramble in mid Sep so book and bring your pals. Its great fun.
Fine value and nice wide open course
Tryin out a new used Titlelist driver I just bought from the St Andrews second hand golf club store~
After losing a couple of balls things started to fall in place on the back 9 w 3 pars.
Enjoyed my round
Unexpected surprise
Stayed locally and played a few of the typical (and considerably more expensive) courses. Booked Scoonie on a complete whim having driven past it a few times between Leven and Lundin. What a brilliant surprise. First hole doesn’t fill you with much hope but once you get into the round it’s a great knock, especially considering the cost. Definitely recommend!
A very nice, good price
Give this course a try I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Some nice wide fairways and interesting par 3s.
Friendly nice little clubhouse and they gave me a free trolley for the round.
Good pace of play.
I fully recommend Scoonie GC.
