The tricky 14th Photo submitted by u314161540661 on 06/20/2021
No fairways, no greens = no fun
With it being march i didn't expect the course to be in perfect shape.
I think 3/4 of the greens were off winter greens, all but 1 covered mostly with sand.
Halfway through the round members told us that the fairways were off limits as well. Some notice would've been nice.
One of the holes was missed and then replaced with a 70 yarder randomly squeezed in later on.
The holes were a good length and varied and during summer I'm sure good fun.
If I'd known there were no fairways and almost all winter greens I wouldn't have booked till later in the year. Some communication would've been great rather than agitated members shouting and whistling
Rubbish course
Should have taken Waders course was full of water winter greens winter tees was not told this when booking through GN members rude
One to Avoid
Good old Hayston
Love the course and although weather was dreadful course coped well, greens in great condition aswell
Lovely course, nice layout!
Lovely course, great layout, friendly staff in the pro shop. The 4th hole was out of play, but wasn't mentioned before we teed off, however, it didn't detract from an enjoyable round of golf! Will definitely be back!
Very wet
First time playing and very disappointed. Lots of standing water on fairways and greens saturated. Course should have been closed. Course very busy and pace of play very, very slow. Walked off after playing only 9 holes. 4th hole also completely closed so had to walk to 5th. Not ideal. Wont be back.
Great course
Very busy course., but play kept moving at a good speed. Played at that the start of winter, so looking forward to playing in summer.
Condition of the course was really good, greens running nice and true and still fast. Can’t fault anything about this place !!!!
Great course
2nd time playing this wonderful course after being very impressed the first time back in July and decided to come back again. The west of Scotland has been very wet lately and only the day before I played a course which was just soaking but Hayston was very firm and dry.
Lovely course
Impressive golf course, beautiful par 3’s throughout. Very friendly pro. Greens were ok but would love to revisit.
Great course
Paid £30 for round bit steep but well worth it. Fairways were really nice, greens were soft but still fast considering the rain we’ve had. Nice range of par 3’s. Would highly recommend!!
Brilliant
Had a great day at Hayston, the course was excellent and very challenging. The facilities were great and the staff were very friendly. Can’t wait to get back.
Great course
If you want a challenge which is fair fo to Hayston
It has a great layout and every hole is a challenge in their own individual way well worth a game
Pro shop guy Peter was really friendly and helpful all round a great day out
Hayston Golf Course
Tucked away between Torrance and Kirkintilloch we came across this interesting parkland course. Par 70 with a number of short par 3’s before a tough 208 uphill par 3 to a double green. The course is well payed out with a lot of gentle sloping shots but no blind shots. The greens were extremely fast and in really good condition despite the Heavy rain the previous day. The course was busy but play flowed well. A nice addition to our courses and I would recommend this course.
Great course
We had played most of the courses near Hayston over the years but never thought of trying it until the offer came up on GolfNow and we are glad we played it. Despite huge amounts of rain and flooding to all courses in the area Hayston had dried out very well and was only damp in a few bits. With most greens raised and tucked away in lovely little wooded corners they drained well and were in very good condition when we played. Interesting layout with nice rolling terrain framed by pine trees which set up the holes nicely. Well worth a visit!
