Scenic Course, well worth a visit

Great course in an amazing location. Clubhouse closed but green keepers I met were friendly and have done a great job in having the course in excellent condition considering the time of year (playing full greens on all but 2 holes). I played on a very windy and slightly wet day, still very enjoyable but will definitely be back in the better weather.

Winter Play

Course was very quite, clubhouse was closed but talked to a few green keepers (extremely pleasant friendly guys).

Beautiful scenic course, most regulation greens in play apart from 3 (expected for this time of year).

Lots of different iron shots required, only used my driver 4 times, so great course to improve iron play.

Cant wait to play this course in the summer months, greenkeeper said greens are extremely quick on the better months.

Highly recommend this course to visitors, not Parkland course, hilly in places and make club selection important due to slopes.

Well done greenkeepers, loved this course 👏

Hidden Gem

Really good golf course. Situated right at the foot of the campsies.

Nice variety of holes. Also very hilly and challenging terrain. Will be a workout when using a carry bag. Winter greens were on due to there being a slight frost I believe through the night. I will definitely be back to experience this course and the greens during the hotter months of the year.

Pleasantly surprised

Working up in Glasgow so used the app to find a reasonably priced course nearby .

At first it seems your pulling up into effectively a farm yard , no pro shop open or staff onsite , other players in the car park very helpful.

The course was a lot beater than I was expecting, the fairways were in good condition for the time of year no winter matts required !

Greens having had winter treatment were very unpredictable but no surprise there ., to be fair although winter tees almost the whole course was playing full greens .

But this courses biggest gift are the views and scenery , my God it was beautiful and for £9 an absolute steal!

Course was extremely hilly but again no surprise being where it’s located !

Worth it for the views alone and practically had the course to myself on a lovely sunny winters day on the whole a very enjoyable experience!

Amazing course

Play here regularly. Very quiet course which is great if you're new and a little time. The course itself is very challenging in places. The short par 4s are balanced out with some of the most difficult terrain ive ever played. The greens are also extremely difficult to play. Also, if you aren't using a buggy be prepared for an intense workout. Great value for money and a great challenge. A few of the holes in particular are stunning. Definitely a solid 8.5/10 for me.

Great value

Really nice course. For the price you pay, you won't really be getting better anywhere else. Was quiet, probably not the absolute best condition ever, but more than playable. Highly recommend a round here.

Walked

Good course but needs better maintenance

A good course but urgently needs more maintenance and ground work. The greens were very dry and over-fertilised.

Otherwise, a very scenic course, with a lovely backdrop of the Campsies, and some tricky holes and some challenging shots.

Beautiful and quiet.

Amazing although difficult course. Generally not too busy but you need the energy to deal with the hills. My new favourite course.

Disappointing pace of play

Course was in good condition, well kept and greens were rapid, off course amenities were ok disappointing of no pro shop and practice area could do with a bit of a makeover. The big let down today was pace of play as they also had on a competition day, we were stuck behind a 3 ball who wouldn’t let us play through and because of that we were standing waiting up to 10 minutes on tee boxes and waiting to hit shots as holes were quite short we couldn’t even hit driver Incase of them getting to close to green so wasted the full day as we walked off on 14th hole because it had took us close to 3 hours to get to that point very disappointing and waste of a journey

Good course

good course - tiny greens and dead ground everywhere - its a shift getting round the 18 as the majority of its uphill - midweek the clubhouse is shut so no staff or anything to greet you just walk on when ur ready

Wednesday Sunny afternoon

First visit to Campsie Golf Club

No staff available on arrival. Spoke with fellow golfer who advised on course layout.

Course was tough for beginner me and on a slope. Fairways and greens very good. I lost a lot of balls in the rough, long grass, jaggy nettles prevented me from finding them.

Overall enjoyed and completed all the 18 holes

Hidden gem.

Don’t let the scorecard lull you into a false sense of security! A great course set on undulating terrain below the Campsie Fells. Lots of blind shots and hanging lies, together with the small and sloping greens, and a gusting breeze, made for a challenging test.
