Played well despite the rain
After some much needed rain, the course was very damp and soggy. I walked through the mush, but my partners had to use the cart-path only. Love this course though, and got a great deal to play just after noon. A little surprised that we almost didn’t finish, but it was as backed up as to be expected. Will still continue to return to this course as it remains one of Long Beach’s best layouts.
Over booked
Awesome rates and course. But it was waaaaaaay too packed. There was like 5 groups in a 20 min span. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes
Slowest round I've played
There was a tournament in front of us and on #3 tee box were 4 separate groups waiting. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes. I tee'd off at noon and didn't even finish.
Eldo experience
Course was I good shape greens were fast smooth. Downside was a mini tour in front of us played extremely slow. Our round took over 5 hours.
Sand added
You asked for it and long beach delivers. Lots of work around the bunkers and they even dded sand to the bunkers. Expect a lot of plugged bunker shots. Greens were a little bumpy but played fast even when wet.
Bunkers PLEASE!
Always good greens (even though recently sanded this day), but for heaven's sake, do something about the bunkers. They range from medium clay to hardpan and unplayable for a higher handicap player. City course, always full...HAS TO BE money for some sand!!!
Great Layout
May not be the longest course but requires golfers to think of their shot shapes to put you in a good position for that second shots.
The course was challenging and in great shape
Had a great round, one of the best in Long Beach.
Fun course!
Always fun to play and is very challenging with all the trees. Greens were just punched but we’re not as terrible as some courses after being punched still has fun.
