5 person groups??
Nice course overall, just don't be in any rush. I've never been to any course where every group is 5 people. We had a threesome and they paired us with another twosome. Wasn't unique, there were groups of 5 all over. I'm assuming this is the reason we were 40 minutes late teeing off and then played well over a 5-hour round. Every par-3 backed way up with 3 groups (of 5). Par 4's and 5's weren't as bad, but we were waiting on pretty much every shot.
Unacceptable pace of play issues
Even for a Saturday, just too difficult to play a round. We were on pace for almost 7 hours to play 18 holes, just a joke.
Won't use GolfNow ever again
Myself and the group of guys that I play with have tried to use GolfNow several times and about 80% of the time there's an issue with our tee time through the App.. it happened again Saturday and thanks to the assistant GM at El Dorado Park we were able to play but GolfNow sold us a tee time that was not available on their tee sheet and it happened the week before at Rio Hondo so we are done using GolfNow I would recommend being cautious as well if you use the app
Pace
Got off a few minutes early. Paired with couple from Korea on vacation, first time here. Fivesomes are still problems on any course. Three ladies and two gentlemen . Twosome in front of them were no better. Marshall or Ranger on course but no change in pace. Course is very popular with plenty of Driving range usage and practice area usage. But courses need to help cut time from FIVE hours
Good play
Played ok. Was crowded but pace was not that slow. Greens were fast. But holding when approaching with high shots.
Greens
The greens were very hard and fast. Don't know if it is scheduled but greens need softing. play more like links course. Pace was at 4 hours but group of 5 were always full hole behind or more.
Tired of waiting
Way too crowded. Had to wait over 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Each par 3 had 2-3 groups ahead of us when we approached the tee box area. More waiting. Resulting in only being able to play 14 holes due to darkness.
Game management
Ugghhh... love the course, but multiple 5somes.. almost 3 hours and I only finished 8 holes.
Fast play 4 hours.
Course in good shape. Greens fast as usual. Only took 4 hours with a nice break at the turn.
Not a 5 star rating but 5 hours rounds with 5 somes!
Visually El Dorado is a nice course but the pace of play was horrible. Two fivesomes went out before our group of four. This added to the fact that two people in my group were flat out bad golfers. So this leads to 5 hour round on a weekday!
The course is a good challenge for an intermediate golfer. The course has carts with GPS which worked well. Based on the number people who were going out they need to have a starter.
I am not sure if I will ever go back. I made need to let this experience subside.
Course layout
They had a mini pro tournament later that day. Greens were fast really fun to play.
great course lousy at keeping tee times
Our tee time was for 10:36. We did not tee off until 11:45. What's the point of making a tee time. This happens too often at El Dorado.
Pace of play was ridiculous
They didn't have enough carts so I had to ride with some gentleman that was at least a 25 handicap and that's ok but I shouldn't have to ride with him

every public course in Long Beach allows 5-somes. It's definitely frustrating sometimes. I try and get out at sunrise to avoid the pitfalls of a 5-6 hour round.
