Cameron House - The Carrick
About
The Carrick at the stunning, five-star Cameron House Hotel is one of the newest additions to the golf scene in Scotland, opened in 2007. It's just down the road from the more famous, albeit private Loch Lomond C.C., and occupies similarly stunning land wrapping around Loch Lomond and the looming Ben Lomond Mountain in the Trossachs National Park.
Complementing the golf course is a brand new clubhouse and condo and resort units, though guests at the original Cameron House Hotel can take a boat across the Loch to the course.
The golf course is named after Canadian architect Doug Carrick, who has built numerous highly rated mountain designs in the Rockies and British Columbia.

Golfer Reviews
Carrick course , Loch Lomond
A good course in fantastic surroundings.
Definitely a course to play in the summer as it’s very soft in places . Excellent value for money even with slow greens .
First class
A first class course and friendly staff .
Stunning scenery. This course should be on everyone's " must play" list
Scenic
Got to be the best scenic course I have ever played. And if you want a challenge, this one is for you, wow it was tuff. I played late afternoon on Saturday and saw another two people, so I had the course to myself. If your near by, I fully recommend the Carrick. Bit take a few balls with you!!!
Great course & views!
The course was quite wet due to 2 days of rain, but we were lucky and it stayed dry for most of our round. The first few holes very wet underfoot, but the remainder were fine. Friendly staff - and great pie & beer at the Halfway House. Lovely views of the loch and surrounding countryside. We are Hcp 18 players and found the course challenging, without being too difficult. Very enjoyable and will definitely play again when we can get a dry day!
Let down by the greens
The course was a great challenge to play, however the greens were embarrassing for the quality of course. Fairways a little poor in some areas too
Bit wet under foot but over all course was amazing would like to play it in summer when dry thank James D
Nice Day Out in December
The staff at the Carrick are exceptional - happy to help and friendly at all times. Nice coffee too!
The course for December is ok although the greens were in pretty poor condition.
The management team should consider the use of mats to protect the fairways as it’s understandibly heavy under foot for the time of year.
Other than that a good day out and a lot of fun.
Will come back in summer!

Great place to play golf
Great course tough but fair . Very helpful in pro shop. Only down side a lot of bird poo on the 18th green . Apart from that can't wait to go back
Great Day
The course was in good condition- greens fast
Staff friendly will make sure next time in Glasgow we play again
50 bunckers for sale!
50 bunckers for sale and even then there will be enough. On this day a lot of maintainance for .....the bunckers of course. Greens and fairways were in good condition. Drinks in the clubhouse are expensive.
mr
great course would play it again fantastic views over the loch great layout beautiful holes quite hard and we'll worth the money
Fantastic layout
Awesome layout in peak condition. Fantastic day from arrival to sitting down for a wee drink after our round. I would thoroughly recommend the Carrick, especially at this time of year.
Outstanding
Great course outstanding layout great views a very good challenge good condition I would recommend it and will definitely play it again that food I'm thinking if becoming a member
Great location
Located on the shores of Loch Lomond, The Carrick provides a stunning place to play golf. A great course layout and numerous challenging holes will give any golfer a round to remember. with holes 10 & 14 providing the best views of The Loch.
Only downside was the soggy conditions underfoot which made the course play longer.
Wetter than and Otters pocket!
I genuinely love the idea of this course, the location and layout should make this as good as it gets! However, i believe a combination of the terrible run of weather we've had combined with the underlying water table which lets be honest is in line with the loch will mean this course will never be able to drain properly, which is a real shame as it is soaking. The greens and tees are built up on a sand base, so the are generally ok, but the water has to go somewhere and unfortuntely that's everywhere else.
I nearly lost two balls hit straight down the middle of the 4th & 11th fairways, surely that can't be right.
Drainage
Had a great round of golf great layout great views just wondered if there is anything the staff can do about the fairways as they were sodden by the end of the round my feet were squelching.that is my only gripe about the place whether they can improve the drainage on the fairways the greens and tees were fine
Carrick
What an experience to play an official European tour course. What a beautiful course even in early November. Staff were incredibly informative before we started. It bettered what I imagined, would highly recommend for anyone wanting to play a beautiful and exceptionally challenging course.
