Expensive Muni Course
Staff is very professional. Course was great condition following a downpour that occurred a couple of hours before our tee time. Greens staff does a great job. Off course amenities fair; on the course nothing is offered (drink cart did come by after a couple of hours). Four & half for the round. $67 for a local muni executive course during the week is just a bit pricey.
Great course, but narrow and long from the blues.
From the blues, you best have a very straight tee shot. The course is great, but if you play big fades or draws, you’ll lose a lot less balls playing Ike (sister course).
Experience was good other than the golf cart breaking down
The golf cart’s battery on the ninth hole ran out so we had to push it back to the clubhouse. Eventually we got help from a another golfer who help us push the cart back to the clubhouse.
Nice course, slowest play in LA.
2:45 hours, 7 holes. Either they are starting too many people close together, or no one understands pace of play. There are no course marshals. I like the course and I live in Long Beach, but won't play there again. Note to beginner golfers- please come out and play, but if you have hit the ball 6 times on a par 4, pick up. You're killing the round for everyone behind you. Rev park- pay someone $15 an hour to drive the course and push people along. This isn't hard.
WORK IN PROGRESS
greens were punched a few weeks ago...good in some greens, not so much in others.
Did not hold solid shots into greens...more water necessary???
Green fee too high, NO DISCLOSURE FROM course or TEEOFF
I thought I had found the perfect tee time for a Wed morning. I CALLED AHEAD and asked how the greens were healing after learning from Greenskeeper.org that they were punched on March 27/28th. In the fairway on the 1st hole I found out that this is not the only AERATED fairway. My playing partners told me that they saw the punching machinery active on the back 9 AS THEY DROVE UP. Turns out 16 of the 18 fairways were aerated all on that day. Playing at 11 am meant the machines were finishing each fairway just as we were approaching each tee, lifting up fresh mud balls, and eliminating any chance for distance or good lies. NO WARNINGS FROM REC PARK before the round or even at check in. NO WARNINGS AND NO HELP from TeeOff, either before the round or upon calling to complain.
The greens were bumpy and it was hard to find your ball off the fairway
Greens have been aerated. Still fun.
I would not recommend to my friends who are serious about their scores, greens are aerated and will be a couple weeks before it’s back at its normal self. But other than that, it’s still fun to play and practice.
Sad
I know there has been a lot of rain this winter but this was a joke, the was no cut line between the the fairway and rough the golf carts don’t even have glass it’s just sad.
