Skylinks Golf Course

I will never play on a Saturday here ever again. Super crowded, over booked that led to over an hour behind our tee time because they ran out of golf carts?? Seriuosly, No carts. They let groups of five play which on a this day really made matters worse. We didn't get 18 in because of it. Weekdays and Sundays are much better.

Course holes are not long but tricky. Making appropriate club choices helps in scoring low. Enjoyed the course layout and the lies around the greens.

The course has a lot of damage due to all the rain that was received in the past months. They recently punched the greens and it's taking a very long time to heal. The maintenance of the course is poor, the tee boxes are in bad shape. For the price I would rather play El Dorado Park.

The starter was not in control and this lead to a 10 minute delay to begin the round. Poor wait staff at the turn and no sight of the refreshment cart until hole 14. Most expensive muni course in Long Beach and doesn't feel like They want you back.

Lots of bunkers, should be called bunkerlinks...

Ball placement decision making is imperative here.

I love this course. Open fairways yet challenging holes.

The greens are in good shape, although the early groups fail to fix ball marks. Fairways are reasonably good too with few bare spots. But why o' why does American Golf allow five-somes early in the morning?? When I tee off at 7 AM I expect to play faster than 4:15 to 4:30... and hate to wait on so many shots. Ruins what could be a very good experience.

So slow! Tee'd off at 1 on Saturday and got through 14 before it got too dark. We waited at least 15 minutes between every shot. They ran out of carts, the driving range was completely full and the chipping green has one hole so one golfer already had his whole bucket all over it. Don't waste your day they already have more than enough golfers there.

Although I enjoyed what I saw of the course, the pace of play was awful. It took 3 hours and 10 minutes to play the front 9 on a Tuesday afternoon, which is completely unacceptable.

This course has always been one of my favorites and even thoug it was car paths only due to the bad weather conditions we had, it in very good condition

Long Beach course are flexible they tell me with Golf Zing but not Golf Now.

Green was very slow and bunker was heavy and hard

Great time with a great bunch of guys! Played as a single,always seem to play with fun people here. Conditions and weather were wonderful. Great day!

Well beyond everything being slow, and the on course womens bathrooms not being clean or functional was OK. Six hour round waiting on every shot, at the turn even getting a beer and hot dog was slow. Of course no one to help with the slow play except the course "ambassador" who kept saying at least there are no terrorists. Who knows maybe a terriorist foursome would have speed up play.

Played Skylinks yesterday 8/1/16, the weather was perfect. Teed off at 5:00 and finished a little after 8:00. (no waiting until the 12th hole) I started playing there in the early 80s, have always enjoy playing there and since the remodel it has the feel of playing a resort course. For the price you will not find another comparable public course in the area.

Spectacular course, excellent layout, great greens. Shot an 83 I usually shoot in the high 80's low 90's .. So definitely playing here again, a little challenging.

When we checked in they were running a little behind and out of carts, but the starter was really nice and offerd us some range balls. I was a little disappointed in the course, I had never seen it this dry before and they use reclaimed water. Also, every par 3 was backed up 2-3 groups, wish there was a Marshall around, no beer cart working either. I sure hope they make some changes soon, hate to see what was a nice course fall by the wayside.
