The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge

Lots of great views with generous fairways.The temperature was 40’ degrees so I had to play winter golf, “Extra cloths and loss of distance” , forced me to play the course smart and score better. Definitely a enjoyable course to play.

Good layout, greens in good condition for winter, new sand in some traps; but some fairways are firm and thin in spots - but has been this way for a long time Next time I may tee it up in a couple fairways

3 of us pretty much the course to ourselves and that was a good thing as we were challenged. The fairways and greens were in great shape. I Highly recommend this course.

Moved to the area about 5 years ago, and CR has become my go to course. I play this course 10-15 times/year and mostly just show up so play with lots of other people, not members. Almost everyone rates this course in their Top 3 in the area to play. It's especially nice in the pm when the rates go way down.

That said, they really have to do something about the course condition. It had real grass problems last year, they've tried some things this year but still needs work. Traps are good and layout is very good.

If you don’t mind 5 hour rounds.....we never saw a ranger as there are just a bunch of kids in the golf shop. Two foursomes were incredibly slow and we got no help from the pro shop whatsoever. It’s a shame because it’s a good layout and usually fun. Disappointing. The greens were very slow and as the day wore on became very bumpy because the bent geeens were soaked and long to keep them from dying. Fairways generally were nice. Tee boxes were beat up, especially the par threes. Don’t play here on a Sunday unless you have plenty of time (at least 4:45). Pricey considering the lack of interest shown by course management. You’d think a course charging $60 would be more attentive to the greater good.

I played this course for the 8th time Oct 1. Prior to paying my buddy said he had a players card where you pay for 5 rounds and get 1 free. I was kind of ticked that no one ever offered me this benefit before. I love free golf! I asked the guy in he pro shop about it and he copped an attitude as he acted like he couldn't find any more discount cards. He found one shortly but seemed perturbed that I asked for it. Then my buddy showed up and paid and the guy asked him if he was the one that told me about the card. Apparently it's a problem. The course is nice enough that I'll be back. I hope not to see this guy ever again. Why is it necessary to question my friend? My friend said it wasn't to say, " Hey thanks for telling your friend about our specials!" It was more of an interrogation. BTW to ownership, the greens look awful ever since they were aerated. It's no longer a course on top of my list.

Very nice course ... but the greens, especially on the front nine, need work. Major Poa infestation.

Nice layout and fairways were in good shape.

Had a great time at Chapel Ridge it has been a year of so since I've played here forgot what a challenge it was. Fairways were nice shape, front side greens had come crab grass issues, backside was not an issue. I think you would enjoy your round here.

We got a round in the afternoon, the day of, for a reasonable rate. The course was in great condition, especially the greens. A couple walkers slowed us up the front 9 since the greens are so far from the tee boxes. Other than that, the course was great.

It is truly a shame, for a course that has one of the best layouts, to have greens as bad as these. I asked my were there any plans to change the greens in the future and was told no.Thete was no water in the coolers and no water in the ball washers. Someone is letting this place go downhill fast.What a shame!

Love the layout. All holes challenging but fair. Greens were a bit shaggy and would have enjoyed my round more had they been cut and rolled.

Love playing this course. The greens are riddled with crabgrass. I think somone didnt out down preemergent when aerating. They have bentgrass greens, which make them very slow. If this course went to Bermuda, it would probably be one of the best courses in North Carolina. Sraff are always great.

Overall, the day was good. I'm not sure what's happened but while the course was in good shape, the greens were slow and rough. For the money, I will play somewhere else in the future.

Greens were 1 1/2 weeks into healing from aeration, but were in much worse condition than I imagined. The amount of weeds growing all over the fringes

As well as growing into the greens is very disappointing and needs some work.

Wonderful use of the rolling terrain. Many spectacular views.The course was in good conditions and the staff was friendly.The course is playable for golfers at all levels.
