Sweetwater Golf & Country Club
About
Sweetwater Country Club is situated amid the beauty of the Wekiva State Park. Sweetwater is one of Orlando's premier golf courses, boasting a challenging championship layout with some of the area's best greens. The classic links layout brings a taste of Scottish golf to central Florida. Mature oaks shade the golf course, lining the fairways and framing the greens. The 6,238-yard layout offers a good amount of length but it's definitely not a grip-it-and-rip-it course thanks to tight fairways that require accurate shot placement. The course is home to one of the longest par 5s in the Southeast, a challenging 625-yard hole that is aptly named the "Loch Ness Monster." The heavily tree-lined hole double doglegs around a large lake. There are some challenging holes but Sweetwater Country Club isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Enjoyable
First time playing this course. First hole to second hole is a strange lay out. The course is in process of being re-layed out and improved. Club house was also under construction so bathrooms only on 4th/5th hole. That was a little inconvenient. Some tee boxes were sandy, and some greens were brown around the edges. Definitely needing to upgrade, and it will be a nice course when that is completed.
Well it's close by
Fairways are very thin to nonexistent. Bunkers have no sand. and areas around bunkers are in poor condition.
weeds all over the place.
One man staff works hard and is helpful. No clubhouse.
Not worth it
Greens were ok but rest of course is in shambles. Worth about $12
Not really that good.
Difficult finding it as it was gated.
Greens good but fairways poor.
Great value
Great course for the price, pretty cool layout. Shop is under construction so not much to offer there, and the first hole is shortened. Will definitely be back after everything is complete! One of the holes had a bunch of mowers and lots of equipment laying outside of the left side fairway rough. The cart girls were very nice! Went on a Sunday late morning and only ran into a couple other groups of golfers, was wide open for the most part!!!
First time playing here.
Confused entry. Check in out side. Green were good but fairways were poor condition. Tee boxes not very good.
Won’t be back.
Course needs some TLC
Not as bad as most of the reviews. Enjoyed our round.
First time using golf now. Confirmation did not include code to get into property. Had to wait for another car to follow in. Club house not open. Only employee was filling gas carts had to flag down mower operator. Course traps had no rakes and looked like they were not raked for weeks. Big disappointment.
you are correct, but would not rate course as average. too high a rating
