Sweetwater Golf & Country Club
About
Sweetwater Country Club is situated amid the beauty of the Wekiva State Park. Sweetwater is one of Orlando's premier golf courses, boasting a challenging championship layout with some of the area's best greens. The classic links layout brings a taste of Scottish golf to central Florida. Mature oaks shade the golf course, lining the fairways and framing the greens. The 6,238-yard layout offers a good amount of length but it's definitely not a grip-it-and-rip-it course thanks to tight fairways that require accurate shot placement. The course is home to one of the longest par 5s in the Southeast, a challenging 625-yard hole that is aptly named the "Loch Ness Monster." The heavily tree-lined hole double doglegs around a large lake. There are some challenging holes but Sweetwater Country Club isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Great value
Great course for the price, pretty cool layout. Shop is under construction so not much to offer there, and the first hole is shortened. Will definitely be back after everything is complete! One of the holes had a bunch of mowers and lots of equipment laying outside of the left side fairway rough. The cart girls were very nice! Went on a Sunday late morning and only ran into a couple other groups of golfers, was wide open for the most part!!!
First time playing here.
Confused entry. Check in out side. Green were good but fairways were poor condition. Tee boxes not very good.
Won’t be back.
Course needs some TLC
Not as bad as most of the reviews. Enjoyed our round.
First time using golf now. Confirmation did not include code to get into property. Had to wait for another car to follow in. Club house not open. Only employee was filling gas carts had to flag down mower operator. Course traps had no rakes and looked like they were not raked for weeks. Big disappointment.
Sweetwater
It is a $45 or less course at the moment. Bunkers are unplayable. Fairways are more crabgrass than grass. Focus appears to be on building a new clubhouse. Course has deteriorated significantly over the last month. Focus needs to be on the course or you will not have enough play to cover the monthly nut. I will not be back any time soon.
Been Better
Quality was nowhere near when I played a few months ago. Many greens were brunt out. Clubhouse still not finished. Paid $45 online and sign when leaving says to enquire directly about 50% off rounds.
First Time, from a twice a month High Handie capper.
Just here in Apopka visiting family.
The course is under going a large renovation, no club house amenities, #1. Tee has been moved to accommodate new houses,( which also deleted the Driving range).
Front nine playes in between residential homes, which I found to be a little tight.
The bunkers are a mess, no rakes to be found. A lot of the greens had issues, " bald spots and such ".
The back nine opens up rather nicely. This course has potential, let's see what they do with it.

Pleasant layout and surroundings
Staff was friendly. I have played there several times before the recent changes and it used to be a pristine course. It’s evident that they are trying, nice new carts, clubhouse being renovated, however, should they not make a serious effort to make the greens better (about 5 or 6 of them) and make the bunkers better, pretty soon very few golfers will be willing to play there….and as far as I’m concerned, that would be a travesty!
No where near country club course.
Very disappointed after driving an hour thinking it would be in country club shape but it was more like a field then fairways. Tee boxes were terrible, and first hole shares the maintenance dirt entrance. Then hole 2 is parallel to hole 1 requiring you to drive back up the dirt cart path towards hole 1 tee box before turning right behind maintenance building to reach hole 2 tee box as next group is teeing off at you! After hole 2 the course layout does get better but conditions were poor. Bunkers weren't raked, and no toilet paper in restroom. Only good thing was the greens. I think it's over-priced for conditions it was in. Hopefully they're working on restoration because it has great potential.
Course was ok… some of the green were NOT GOOD!!! Most of tee boxes were in BAD SHAPE!!! But for price …. It was ok..
What a disappointment
Now I know why tee times were available. Course in pretty bad shape. Front 9 the worst. Tee boxes mostly sand with the odd blade of grass or weeds. Fairways not much better. Sand trap’s haven’t been raked in god knows how long. Only staff I meet was at checkin in the parking lot. Club house closed and not accessible. Only washrooms were on course. Course located in a gated community. Had to call course for access code to get in.
