Fantastic course
Had a great day to play a course that proved great challenge with variety of Holes in excellent condition. Beautiful Outlook from nearly every hole so don't forgetvthe camera.
The course was in great condition and despite it being open week everything was very well organised.
The layout is a mixture of parkland (first 5) some links holes but the majority on the cliff. Not really a true links course. Would still play again but probably prefer one of the true links courses in the region.
Beautiful Coastal Golf
I was thoroughly impressed by Ballycastle GC. The front 5 parkland holes around the abbey are a kind start to the round before being exposed to the beautifully kept, undulating and windy back side.
Greens were in exceptional condition and the firm, tightly mown fairways allowed for long balls if you can hit it straight.
Always great value
Ballycastle is arguably one of the most picturesque courses in Ireland. A wide variety of holes including 5 parkland holes.
Always a pleasant welcome from Damian in the club shop.
Really loved this course : good variety of holes and lovely setting.
Ballycastle - Another Gem up the North Coast
Great course with a mixture of Parkland and link holes. The course was in great condition as expected. Holes 6, 7, 8 and 9 are some of the most difficult and require accuracy. Definitely recommend playing.
Loved everything about it!
What a fabulous course! Great condition and some very scenic holes--monastery ruins and ocean views! The staff was extremely friendly, down to recommendations for places to eat and other area courses. I was visiting for the first time. My son with disabilities was warmly welcomed and allowed to walk with me. I can't say enough for the value! I'm going to play again before I have to leave.
Many holes to close on each other en couple of dangerous crossings. On the other hand there were some spectacular holes also. And I don’t understand why a carpark so close to the 18th green.
Some fantastic holes an views
Can’t wait to go again ..as an ex green keeper the golf course was kept to a great standard
Brilliant Ballycastle
Had a tee off time for 2:12 on a Sunday, but arrived early and Ron in the pro shop let me go early. Thanks Ron. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent conditions. Lovely views and not too bad weather, made for a really nice round of golf. Members were very friendly and helpful, as I hadn’t played the course in 15 years. It won’t be another 15 years before I play it again, but really soon. Cracking day out , really enjoyed it. Be back soon.
Great condition and Value for money!
Overall I thought the course was in fantastic order. The Greens and fairways were as close to perfection as you can get for this time of year. There was a few of the Higher holes in which the fairways had a bit of surface water and a few on the Parkland side of the course also but all in all I would highly recommend the course to anyone. Staff and residents are all top class also and very accommodating. I will definitely be back again over the summer months to give it another go, thanks
Winter at Ballycastle
Stunning course that was in great shape holes 6-18 were open and playable even though most courses remain closed
Pro very friendly and helpful
Strange
Nice little course but not worth the money they are charging. Couple of quirky holes but not a great links experience.
Course
Unreal experience. Been wanting to play this course for years. To say it exceeded expectations is an under estimation. Cant wait to play it again..
A wonderful setting for an interesting golf course
My wife and I played this course on a beautiful early Summer afternoon which suited us perfectly. There were not many other golfers ahead of us, but those whom we did meet were friendly and helpful. The course as reported elsewhere is in three distinct phases - a parkland section of fairly demanding longer holes to begin, then over the road to the coastal strip and some lovely links holes climbing up the cliffs, before the second half is predominantly downland golf with some less interesting holes to return to the clubhouse. However, the 17th and 18th are two great finishing holes, especially if your match is on the line!
Astonishing quality of really dry greens for time of year and lovely fairways everywhere. The 10th is an astonishing hole with a raised tee box with dramatic 360 degree views, but then an upward shot to a green which must be another 40 feet higher at least over a chasm.
Pro (Damian) was immensely helpful in getting us on the course and with advice.
We will definitely come back for more, but you probably need to pick a day without extreme winds to enjoy the experience fully.
Ballycastle
Great course in great condition. Fantastic scenery coupled with challenging holes, and wind adding to the challenge. Good day out
Quirky Fun
Really good fun, quirky course with a mix of parkland/links holes.
Unbelievable views and in great condition for early season. Would definitely recommend and will return
