Try it!
A much overlooked course because of its municipal status but one that deserves a chance. Course is almost always in great condition and the greens albeit can be slow are well cared for all year round. This course I feel would hold its own against most of its private owned competitors.
Don't be put of, give it a go I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Friendly
When I showed up everyone was friendly, even some members with Shirts on showed their face to just be nice!!
For the course, honest for the end of winter you could ask for Better signage to temporary tee boxes!
Couldn’t ask for better green keeping at that time of year!
All and all what a fun, relaxing yet challenging course to play it had everything, views and challenges to improve the golf game without disheartening the beginners!
Thank you for the memories… Rab
Some issues
Teeing off of winter mats is fine but not when every single mat has your feet either above or below the ball. If your going to have people using slanty winter mats to tee off and the fairways are like slurry then maybe don’t charge people full price for a round?
Winter golf
The course has suffered a bit due to weather and playing of mats my front 9 good back 9 affected by very slow and stubborn/arrogant play bad weather, but previous experience of this course is very good
Lovely course
Lovely layout of course would like to play again in summer ☀️
Great layout
Although weather was bad the course excellent
Staff were very friendly
Would definitely recommend this place
Great course, challenging holes
Lovely course some tricky holes, some short pat 3’s which were enjoyable. Definitely worth a round
absolutely love this course
I have played this course many times and I absolutely love this course nothing more is needed to been said
Love Castlereagh so handy from where I live. Course is in excellent condition people are always friendly and it's great to have a course with toilet facilities. Would certainly recommend it.
Great value. Challenging course.
We’ve all played some truly horrendous council courses especially in England. This isn’t one of them. It’s in great condition. Well looked after and we’ll signposted. Some oh the walks between holes would be very confusing with out the signs. The course itself isn’t long but the difficulty comes from the narrowing fairways. Tricky pins and some very undulating fast greens. (I had one 25ft putt that I aimed 10ft left of the hole and still missed it on the low side!!!) my putting is ghastly to be fair. The members I chatted to were friendly and the staff were sound. I had a great day and will return definitely. Thank you to all at the course for a great day.
Castlereagh hills
Great value hot deal , challenging course and in fantastic condition after lockdown
Hidden Gem
Well maintained course that has a lot of challenges around both halves of the course. Some of the tee boxes are more sand than grass but that’s about the only downside. Greens were fast and flat. For the fees it was a great price and will be back again
Excellent Course
Had not played Castlreagh Hills in a while The course was really good great condition greens were lovely
It was a most enjoyable round I will definitely be back my playing partner felt exactly the same we will definitely be returning
Course condition s
Course was in immaculate knick yesterday. Shame about my golf game. Can't wait to get back there again to improve my score
