“How we do it!”
Arrived for our round at our tee time and for the 2nd time in around 3 weeks they had let 2 groups that just turned up to go on out. I asked the girl why as we were booked on. Her response was, “that’s just how we do it!” I said to her that we had a booked tee time. Once again, “that’s just how we do it” That is twice in a few weeks this has happened. I emailed the club, but of course to no response.
So if you’re looking for a quick game of golf and it’s booked out, just walk up, pay and crack on as “that’s how we do it!”
Great value course
We had a fabulous round, hopefully we didn’t hold up too many people as we had a first timer with us, so had to let a few solo players play through. But great value for money and a well kept course. We will be back.
Poor from arrival
Apparently the system went down!! Arrived for my tee booking time and a 3 ball followed by a 4 ball had just paid and standing at the first tee. I don’t like people nipping on to the 10th but we had to - the pace of play was shocking. There were multiple tee boxes missing the yellow markers. One green had a huge rabbit hole in the middle. The green keeper was friendly but I had to submit a review as it’s happened multiple times here!
Pace of play!
For the course to charge 25 pounds, dont get me wrong the course layout and length of the course is very good but to basically not have any green grass on the 'Greens', covered in what i would assume rabbit/fox holes on the actual greens, also the greens were basically as long as fairways! But thats not even the worst part, the Pace of play is by far the worst i have experienced i can't even put it in words to describe how bad that actually was! It's people like that, that questions your decision to become members of any golf club!
Could be better
Course is very long and challenging but the course needs a bit more love and attention. Bunkers and the greens are in poor condition.
Staff where very friendly and helpful
I wouldn't pay more than £10
Greens are terrible, Tee box's are terrible, fairways are decent and playing very fast with all the good weather. large areas of GUR that are not marked. no marshal in sight took nearly 3 hours for nine holes .
Awful state
Fairways overgrown, rough a foot high 6 feet off the fairway, greens are the worst I've played, spiked over 3 weeks ago and not rolled since, tee box's more like waste areas. Such a waste of a good layout
Great course..
Course was fantastic the girl at reception was very helpful and the course for this time of the year was fantastic not one bit of the course was under repair very highly recommended..👊⛳️
Please tend to the course - hate to see it die
I've played hear dozens of times and it's good value for what I pay. The walk in rate is not worth it given the current state of the course.
This place has so much potential. All it needs is a lawnmower and some loving care. Fairways are overgrown and greens always in need of a cut and rolling.
On the plus side - one of the driest courses int he country and playable when no where else is. No restrictions - such as mats etc and you must consider these strengths when waying up value.
It's getting hard to defend this course time and time again - for god sake - let it see a lawnmower!!
Course conditions
Played on Thursday 14th Nov at 12:30 fairways and rough hatd in places till tell the difference and the greens were awful patchy and bumpy was disappointed with the way it was also a few more direction signs would help this course has alot of potential
Decent course
Nothing wrong with the course some decent holes course itself needs looking after, could be so much better with a few pound put into it and a bit of care
Very disappointing visit
I normally wouldn't write a review but today we were treated so badly by the man in the pro shop I had to share something. We had booked our tee time and paid our green fee before proceeding to the first tee box. I had created a scorecard on golf Ireland as we wanted to count our scorecards. My friend teed off from the white tees, as is our right as there were no competitions on at the time. The man from the pro shop quickly came out of the pro shop and told us to only play for from the yellow tees, as the white tees were for ‘big dogs!!’ Obviously this remark was completely uncalled for, and as someone who has played golf for over 8 years and has considerable amount of experience playing different golf courses, I’ve never been told to get off a tee box because it’s for ‘big dogs!!’ We were perfectly entitled to play from any tee we wished as long as we weren’t interfering with a competition or were not holding up play. What a sad way to welcome visitors to the club.
