Terrible Fairways and Rough
Paid £10 and thought it was great value but then as I started playing I noticed why it was only £10. The fairway would be considered 1st or 2nd cut on a good course and impossible to determine where the fairway and rough are separated from tee box. I’m a decent golf and lost 3/4 balls that were straight down the fairway due to the length of the grass. Greens are slow but to be fair are in good condition.
Would not recommend. Maybe if it was £5.
I like this course but guys it seriously needs markers on the fairways. It's standard practice.
Enjoyable game of golf
Greens good condition for time of year. Good value for money and staff very friendly and helpful.
Nobody on reception at all waited for 5mins and still no one so just grabbed 2 cards and walked onto the course. 2 people teeing off at the time we had booked. Followed them around and both men were taking 2 balls
Off the tea and playing both balls the whole way around the first 9 holes. We Gave up after the front 9.
Really bad condition. Couldn’t tell the difference between fairway and rough. Greens were shocking with so much sand that would change the direction of the ball really easily. Won’t be back
Dry, no mats
A dry underfoot course, thankfully no mats required. Greens are very heavily sanded.....completely impossible to putt on, youd be better using a seven iron.
Useful driving range facility to warm up.
Long course with wide fairways, easy to play if you are a big hitter.
Course ok but a bit untidy with un replaced divots everywhere ( that could be down to the birds?) Reasonable value for money but better courses nearby for similar greenfee eg. Lurgan, edenmore, alberdelgy. Having said all that, I enjoyed the outing
No mats
Played here before..... Not the most salubrious of courses but I'd always found it OK. Went today mostly because you don't have to use mats (which I hate) and there's a driving range with real balls that allows you to hit some warm up shots (getting to be a must do with my aging joints and muscles)The course was in "just OK" nick, dry underfoot but the greens had been heavily sanded which i would have liked to have been made aware of prior to booking. The course was generally a bit untidy with unreplaced divots everywhere (birds maybe?) and bits of rubbish lying in the edges. I realise that the ground staff have to keep bushes, shrubs trees etc under a certain height to maintain visibility of the horse race track surrounding it but the course could do with a bit of landscape cosmetics. Having said all that, I enjoyed the wide fairways and the dryness of the place. Ill come back again as it was reasonable value.
Value for money
Greens in need of attention but I’ll blame that on player’s not repairing pitch marks, some parts of course very wet but the weather hasn’t been great this past few weeks
Better than expected!
Played this course a few times now and have always been disappointed with the condition.
Had heard it was a good course to play in Winter as it doesn’t hold water so gave it another go - pleasantly surprised!
Fairways & greens a little long in places but with it being wet recently this was to be expected.
Bunkers could do with a fill of sand but aside from that pretty decent!
Amazing
The course is in superb condition for the time of year, and is probably the best value in the local area by a long way. Really enjoyable!
Great value
Have played here several times over past two years, particularly over the winter as it drains so well.
Greens in good condition, course not crowded and helpful staff. Any other golfers we've met have been very friendly. Value for money
Needs bit of love
Found the greens bumpy and patchy, some holes need hair cut others are ok,but generally still a challenge
Horrible greens
Everything was ok but as the title says the green where horrible..patchy and bumps all over them couldn’t get a good role of the ball on them..ball bounced up of green on most putts and changed direction cause of patches
Not great
Unfortunately this course isn't in great shape. The fairways are not cut very well but that is probably more of a concern to those who can hit them. However it would be great to be able to differentiate between the fairways and the rough. The greens would be questionable on a pitch n putt course but for a golf course charging £25 for a round, they are a disgrace.
Poorly mentained
Have played this course before and enjoyed the course, however it has really changed and not for thebetter, very poor greens, bunkers are atrocious, worst i have ever seen, fairway grass is too long, cant say i would return if its stays like this, it needs a lot of tlc to make it better, dont think it could get any worse.
