Down Royal Park Golf Course

Everything was ok but as the title says the green where horrible..patchy and bumps all over them couldn’t get a good role of the ball on them..ball bounced up of green on most putts and changed direction cause of patches

Unfortunately this course isn't in great shape. The fairways are not cut very well but that is probably more of a concern to those who can hit them. However it would be great to be able to differentiate between the fairways and the rough. The greens would be questionable on a pitch n putt course but for a golf course charging £25 for a round, they are a disgrace.

Have played this course before and enjoyed the course, however it has really changed and not for thebetter, very poor greens, bunkers are atrocious, worst i have ever seen, fairway grass is too long, cant say i would return if its stays like this, it needs a lot of tlc to make it better, dont think it could get any worse.

Loved Down Royal. It has the feel of a links course in places. Great value for £10. Only downside was the greens which were very slow.

Slow greens to long..slow play ..could’ve been a busy time of day but was running behind even before we got to tee off..very windy which could have affected the pace of play..then a 2 ball and 3 ball stopped playing after 9 holes cause of the slow pace infront of us

Fairways were ok but the greens were rock hard on all holes an very bumpy played here loads b4 an this was prob one the worst. Apart from wen the greens being holitined could not control ball on any greens an just made it bit frustrating as wen hit good shots on u think u close an wen u got up u were 20 /30 ft of greens

Greens an absolute farce. Could have got the lawnmower out at least. Fairways like rough and rough out of control.

The course was in great condition to play given all the most recent rainfall. It remained open whereas other close by courses were closed

I don't know what half the complaints on here are about, my second time playing this course and it's been great both times! Fairways good and the rough is nice to play out of too and you don't generally lose your ball in it. It was cut and well maintained. Aye the greens were a tiny bit bobbly in patches but this was barely noticeable and it is December tomorrow.

I was weary about booking here first time and this time after the reviews but I'd happily be a member here if I didn't like to get about and play all over the place!

Played this course today,really friendly staff but greens/fairways very poor.

Granted it is wet conditions course need a makeover.

Huge potential with some investment into cutting fairways/weeding the bunkeers and manicuring the greens.

Overall not worth the money and it's just a shame of what it could be.

Course was in ok condition some greens could do with a bit of work but the tee boxes where not good. Yellow spray paint on the grass as tee markers some of which had faded and couldn’t be seen.

My husband had played the course several times in previous years. He was amazed at how run down it was. There was no difference in fairway or rough grass length. Some greens were very poor. One even had holes. In summary, its become very neglected.

This could be a great place to play golf but it’s obvious there has been no money spent here for some considerable time. There is no definition between fairway and light rough and in fact there weren’t even any tee box markers when we visited.. The greens are in an atrocious state and any bunkers that still had sand in were overgrown with weeds. I realise times have been tough but even cutting the grass in the greens would be a vast improvement. The big plus is that this is Sandy ground and can be played year round but unfortunately I will need massive encouragement to return. Very helpful and friendly guy in the reception area.
