Carnalea Golf Club

Played this course hundreds of times, but today I was pretty disgusted. Pay £26 only to be told when I turned up to rent a matt for £10 or pick up ball and play from the rough! Needless to say I did neither as I paid my money and was never told this prior to arriving so was never going to happen. Best hole on course, the 9th was also closed for play. Pretty disgusted in all honesty

What a outstanding course. Old fella in club shop with his dog just chilling. Greens to die for and amazing views with tight tee shots. You have to position yourself well on a lot of holes. I got a deal for £26.99. I would highly recommend, asked I could film content and was not a problem as long as I kept up pace.

Gotta say carnalea golf course was in fantastic condition, really great not to be playing off mats . fairways where great and the greens where what I would say really trying big 👍 up to the green keepers really impressed.very enjoyable day .

Excellent golf Course very Well maintained and good facilities, you must be very accurate from the Tee or you will suffer the perils, and when you get to the well maintain green just remember this, is like skating on ice they are so fast they are incredible fast and this will determine your final score. The views are breastaking I thought for a moment I was playing in de Costa del Sol.

Had a cracker day weather was fantastic.greens where in great condition really had a good pace . really good pace of play no holdups .

We were a 2 ball paired up with another 2 ball courtesy of golf now , which turned out great as the two guys were gentlemen who could hit a ball and were great craic !! Nice lads , it was busy in front of us and a bit slow due to a 4 ball who took their time looking for balls and putting took forever !! We had a 4 ball behind us who launched balls and never shouted four , they just thudded beside us anytime we were up the fairway , lovely smell of skunk wafted around all day !! Temporary green on 14 is laughable !! Apart from that course is decent and the Guinness was lovely!! Bank holiday busy !!

Course has all 18 holes open, still a bit wet/muddy under foot but to be expected with the last couple of months weather.

Temp mats in use.We had a 4 ball and certainly enjoyed the day with the fantastic views and definitely going back soon.

Had seen the course on YouTube and thought I’d have a look.

Booked for a decent price for 18 holes.

It’s been wet recently and I was forced to play off a mat on fairways, these can be borrowed for a £10 deposit. While frustrating I do understand as the course can be maintained for the upcoming season.

Was told to play the back nine first as they reverse for winter time. Did get caught up behind a few larger groups but was happy to wait as I wasn’t rushing the round.

The course looked good and while still damp in places was well maintained and looked good. Winters tees in place but the quality of tee mat was good and easy to use.

Greens were well maintained considering and all but one were in summer layouts. The sole winter one was just a hole in the fairway which wasn’t any shorted in grass length. Some of the greens were wet to walk on but look like they’re going to be gran come the drier weather. Decent pace to them and a little movement already.

Bunkers were freshly laid with sand and in play. Luckily I only ended up in one and while tricky the sand was a good quality to get a strong shot off through it.

The back 9 was a bit wetter than the front nine and that will most likely be the fact the front nine borders the coastline and will have good drainage.

Some decent homes throughout with several doglegs to keep you on your toes. Quite a few blind tees and greens so be careful if you’re a big hitter and can’t see anyone in front. Some poor ladies ended with my ball close to their feet as they were out of view when I drove. Not many bells to give awareness.

Overall a decent track and I will be back in the summer to have a go when the course will be tip top now doubt.

Clubhouse is well sized and the food smell that drifted through was great. Reasonably busy with non golfers too so it must be decent enough but I didn’t try. Bar prices were reasonable and a good choice of drinks available too.

Pro shop has the essentials only but does the job.

Played earlier today, for it being in December the greenkeepers have kept the course in great nick. Best views in my opinion

We were in a trip to Northern Ireland and had a free day and was hoping to play golf. Found this course not only did they have a tee time available they had clubs available to rent. When we arrived they had our buggies loaded and ready and the pro shop attendee was AMAZING!! I spoke with Debbie on the phone and she came

Over and introduced herself and wanted to check that everything was okay. The course was in great shape and the greens were some of the best I have ever played on. The views of the oven on the front 9 are amazing!!! We visited the bar / restaurant after and the staff was again amazing and got us a table on the patio overlooking the 9th green and the oven. WOW!!!

Thank you to the entire staff at Carnalea golf club for making a dream of a lifetime come true and for us with the best care. I highly recommend this course.

Played Carnalea with a friend who was visiting on Tuesday and he couldn't believe how spoilt we are to have so many gems within a very short drive from Belfast...The course was in excellent condition and in particular the greens were 💚 ...with the front 9 having beautiful views over Belfast Lough and the back 9 having 2very nicely laid out 90% elbows all added to a lovely round of golf,...will definitely play again
