Eagle Landing Golf Club
About
The 7,037 yard Clyde Johnston design at Eagle Landing weaves through the Florida landscape and takes on a vintage feel as he incorporates several of the classic design holes from around the world into the par-72 layout.
"My goal, says Johnston is to intersperse classic holes such as the Redan Hole, the Eden, and the Cardinal into the routing in order to lend a sense of purity to the golf experience at Eagle Landing. Those individual designs are so technically and aesthetically complete that they can truly elevate a golfing experience."
Johnston's philosophy in designing a Club course remains the same as his other courses; begin each nine relatively easy and progressively get harder. The Eagle Landing course offers six sets of tees, from championship to youth tees, allowing the course to play as easy or as difficult as desired. Johnston's previous designs in northeast Florida include Eagle Harbor Golf Club, St. Johns Golf & Country Club, and Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
Eagle Landing also offers a magnificent golf clubhouse with sports bar, fully-stocked pro shop, his and her locker rooms, and an elegant restaurant overlooking sparkling water and lush fairways. The staff of PGA professionals will coordinate a host of exciting tournaments and events on the course and in the clubhouse.

Outstanding course. Staff was very professional and courteous. Willing to assist with any problems encountered. If visiting back in the area, I would look forward to playing this course again..
Fuelled Brothers Golf Outing
Totally enjoyed playing Eagle Landing. Recommended play from the Fluellen Brothers.
Great course
First time playing and it was in good shape, greens were excellent and rolled very well. A little wet in places. Overall a very nice layout and nice course. Will be playing again.
Great Course For The Average Man
The course condition was really good. Heavy rain the night before had one tee box saturated but the fairways were plenty firm. The greens were reasonably paced but had a strong grain.
Nice but slow
Eagle Landing is a fun layout that I think is one of the best conditioned public courses in northeast Florida. There are several reachable par 5's, and drivable par 4, and a nice mix of distances on the par 3's. The only hole I didn't like was 8; the hole doesn't really give you anywhere to hit your tee shot IMO, short of laying way back. That's no big deal though, the rest of the course is very fun.
I also very much appreciate the generosity of the deal they offer on golfnow that includes 2 meals and 2 drinks for 49 bucks. It might be the best bang for your buck in town.
This was only my 2nd time playing Eagle Landing though, because for a long time, I'd heard stories that the pace of play was very slow. On our first trip out, it was fine but on Saturday it was pretty awful. The round took 5:10, which is just way, way too long. There was a ranger, and a very nice one at that, who just kind of rode around waving to people. We asked him about the slowness, and he sort of said "it is what it is". Five hours and ten minutes isn't the best any course can do.
In short, Eagle Landing has a great facility and a great deal. They just need to be more proactive in making sure the pace of play isn't brutally slow!
Nice course for the money
My wife and I enjoyed playing the course, but not the way mother nature treated us in "sunny" Florida. It was a cool and windy day which made conditions more challenging. Course was in good shape. Play was a bit slow for a two or three some, but the ranger stopped by several times to make sure the foursomes where keeping pace.
Amazing experience
Eagle Landing is an amazing golf course. The day started with having a free breakfast. Pace of play and condition of the course was outstanding. Greens were fast and definitely took some getting use to after playing at sub par courses. Fairways were in great shape as well. I dint play well, but still enjoyed my round. After my round I enjoyed the free lunch and two free draft beers. I will definitely play this course again very soon!
Not as good as advertised....
Course conditions were nice but the layout was not challengeing what so ever.... Ranger was rude and pushed you to play faster every 3 holes. Didnt appriciate that. Not a bad deal, but could have found a better expierence elsewhere for less money.
Great Course
Enjoy $1.86 Killians after your round at this tucked away gem. Not only is this course in overall great shape, but its constant from hole to hole. The greens run at an perfect fast pace. The par 3's are all pretty long giving is a total in the 6560's from the blues. Never disappointed with this course..
Excellent Round!
Played mid-day on a Thursday in a 3some ... paired up with a single and it was an excellent round, including lunch!! Greens are in great shape, staff is outgoing. And most importantly, had fun!!
Nice Course
The pace of play was ridiculous. We were on track to finish 18 holes in about 6 hours. Everything else was very nice. Beautiful course. Friendly staff.
Great Course and value but that =slow weekend play
great course one of the better ones in Jacksonville. worth the drive but the words out on the value. We got on the tee box in a timely fashion but...played at 11:16 and finished at 4:30 without a stop at the turn. :-(.. Still one if the best values in North Florida
Excellent condition, best value for the price!
The round offered 18 holes plus 2 drinks and lunch. Beautiful weather and the course was in excellent condition. Would highly recommend!
Great course--nice people
I did not use bar so no score there. Greens had been aerated recently and were not totally recovered which is only reason conditions did not get a 5. No doubt in a week it will be perfect. Even the range and practice greens are in great shape. A LOOOONG drive for me, but I was rewarded with a great experience! Not a walking course with some very long distances between holes.
Love it!
Great course with excellent staff! I would recommend this course to my friends and co-workers.
Golfnow Deal
Got a great deal on Golfnow but when checking in at pro shop found out they had front nine closed for greens aeration so had to play back nine twice. They are aerating back nine Sept 3.I would play again.
Course is in great shape. True greens and nice people
Went off on 10 and was able to move around pretty good and finished less than 3hours. Even stopped for the 2 free drinks while turning. greens are in good shape running true. Played a few times since it opened and it really has built up. Lots of residences. Overall, great track and mgmt is top notch, enjoy it when you're visitng ne fla.
Nice course
Course was nice fairways were good, greens were okay. Not my favorite layout however, it is still fun. Staff is always nice a little "stuffy for me".... I love their food options best on the Westside.
Great course for the price
Best course to play in the area, and the price is nice as well.
Perfect!!
I was a little skeptical at first with the overall rating and the hot deal price set at $14, but after playing this place I'd gladly pay 50+. The greens were darn near perfect providing the speed I'm accustomed to allowing for some nice long putts to drop without much effort. The fairways and tee boxes were immaculate, the neighborhood setting was great, and the bunker and water hazards provided a nice challenge from the back tees (we started close to three o'clock and were obviously the first people to play from those tees). The 7000+ yd layout from the backs really suits our game well. We live near Atlanta, work down here occasionally, and play Jax courses whenever we're down here. Eagle's Landing is now the new preferred course by a long shot! In other words play this course!
