Eagle Landing Golf Club
About
The 7,037 yard Clyde Johnston design at Eagle Landing weaves through the Florida landscape and takes on a vintage feel as he incorporates several of the classic design holes from around the world into the par-72 layout.
"My goal, says Johnston is to intersperse classic holes such as the Redan Hole, the Eden, and the Cardinal into the routing in order to lend a sense of purity to the golf experience at Eagle Landing. Those individual designs are so technically and aesthetically complete that they can truly elevate a golfing experience."
Johnston's philosophy in designing a Club course remains the same as his other courses; begin each nine relatively easy and progressively get harder. The Eagle Landing course offers six sets of tees, from championship to youth tees, allowing the course to play as easy or as difficult as desired. Johnston's previous designs in northeast Florida include Eagle Harbor Golf Club, St. Johns Golf & Country Club, and Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
Eagle Landing also offers a magnificent golf clubhouse with sports bar, fully-stocked pro shop, his and her locker rooms, and an elegant restaurant overlooking sparkling water and lush fairways. The staff of PGA professionals will coordinate a host of exciting tournaments and events on the course and in the clubhouse.

Good course and pace of play
The course was in good condition. The fairways were very generous, but there is plenty of water, sand and trouble for a very bad tee shot to find.
The addition of a free lunch and beverage was a surprise and a nice treat.
Lunch & beer included!
Price was great, especially with food and drink. Greens need help.
condition of greens
the greens are impossible to read, the speed from green to green varies and you can not get a consistent roll on any of them.
My favorite public course in the Jax area
Always look forward to playing Eagle Landing- A lot of different looks on the course, if you are hitting the ball well, you can score well, if you are not, it can be penalizing- It's a very fair and extremely enjoyable course, can't wait to play it again!
Great Deal with Meal & Beer!!!
I was dare to play the course since Everybody Keep telling me about this course, however my experience was Good not Great!! Really a Nice Deal with the Meal & Beer included, does the ride it worst it?? Since I drive from St. Augustine like a 40 min drive Don't think so, But for people staying or leaving in Jax areas a must if looking for some savings.
Eagle Landing
Great day great course for the deal. Slow play not terrible though.
greens were fast!
Everything was great except for pace of play, which was very slow due to early morning frost delay of about an hour or more. I know this was not their fault, but it made for a long day. The greens were very fast but putted true.
Pace of play is terrible
2 out of the last 3 rounds I have played there have been over 6 hours. I played again thinking it would get better but it was the same slow pace as before. They have too many tee times for the course pace. It's backed up on every hole. This last Saturday I played the course again thinking if I played earlier in the day I would be able to find before dark. My original tee time was at 11:40. When I arrived at the course all the tee times were pushed back an hour. I asked if the pace was about 4 hours. They informed me that it was ahead of that because the delay was 2 hours starting in the morning. So the pace picked up. The staff is great and so are the facilities. The fairways and greens are always I'm great shape. Until they fix the pace of play problem just stay away it's not worth the headache.
one of the best courses on
My purchase of a,' twilight ' tee time came with 2 free beers that alone is a great start. ...My experience the rest of 18holes was like being in your own backyard or at a local park. Reasonable obstacles . Fast greens. Challenging pin placements. The course makes you feel like you're playing ,'professionals ,' quality. ..
Excellent value
Course in great condition , Staff and food and bervage staff excellent . One of the best values on Golf Now . Will be back and tell all my golf buddies .
first time at eagle
Course was in great shape and a very fair test of your skills. An excellent value for your money. I will be playing there again soon.
Ranger
Played with a friend and they paired us up with two other gentlemen. No biggie. We tee'ed off at 9:15 tee time was 9:24. Before 3 of us could hit our second shot the ranger tells us to speed up. After finishing the hole I called the pro shop. On the fourth hole the ranger comes to our group and is very confrontational! We spoke to the director of golf, I must say we were less then impressed!! Said its a fun course but people like this ruin golf!
Great Course, but be aware of Mrs Debbi at the Clubhouse-Restaurant
I'm German, stay twice a year in Jax, and playing with my Jax-friends always a few golf-rounds
The course was in good shape, friendly staff at the Proshop and Carts - we had a nice round - but then, we visit your Clubhouse-Restaurant and the mess was starting: with your waitress Mrs. Debbi, which just take over her shift at 04.50 p.m., when my friend and me finished 18 holes and want to have our including meals + drinks. First we wait in row for 15 Min., because the CreditCard of the guy in front of us is not working, then Mrs. Debbi is taking over the cashier-system for further 8 Min. from the girl of the previous shift. After staying and waiting for 23 Min., and not told any sorry for let us waiting, we want to purchase our meals + drinks, and get told from Mrs. Debbi, that after 05.00 p.m. we can not get meals or drinks, which are paid in our "inclusive rate"!!!
The help comes only from the very nice girl of the previous shift, which takes attention and our order, after I was requesting for the manager! Even after Mrs Debbi served us the meal + drinks, there was no 'sorry' from her - only rude explenations, that it was the fault of the chef . . .
I'm really travelling a lot in this world and playing even golf all around this world, but a waitress as Mrs. Debbi makes my days extremely inharmoniousness, specially after a nice round of golf!
Excellent Course, very fun and great shape
Great deal if you get the deal that includes lunch and beers. Its a bit of a drive, but well worth it.
Snabba greener
En bana i mycket bra kondition med väldigt snabba greener.
Bra layout och svårighetsgrad

Outstanding course. Staff was very professional and courteous. Willing to assist with any problems encountered. If visiting back in the area, I would look forward to playing this course again..
Fuelled Brothers Golf Outing
Totally enjoyed playing Eagle Landing. Recommended play from the Fluellen Brothers.
Great course
First time playing and it was in good shape, greens were excellent and rolled very well. A little wet in places. Overall a very nice layout and nice course. Will be playing again.
Great Course For The Average Man
The course condition was really good. Heavy rain the night before had one tee box saturated but the fairways were plenty firm. The greens were reasonably paced but had a strong grain.
Nice but slow
Eagle Landing is a fun layout that I think is one of the best conditioned public courses in northeast Florida. There are several reachable par 5's, and drivable par 4, and a nice mix of distances on the par 3's. The only hole I didn't like was 8; the hole doesn't really give you anywhere to hit your tee shot IMO, short of laying way back. That's no big deal though, the rest of the course is very fun.
I also very much appreciate the generosity of the deal they offer on golfnow that includes 2 meals and 2 drinks for 49 bucks. It might be the best bang for your buck in town.
This was only my 2nd time playing Eagle Landing though, because for a long time, I'd heard stories that the pace of play was very slow. On our first trip out, it was fine but on Saturday it was pretty awful. The round took 5:10, which is just way, way too long. There was a ranger, and a very nice one at that, who just kind of rode around waving to people. We asked him about the slowness, and he sort of said "it is what it is". Five hours and ten minutes isn't the best any course can do.
In short, Eagle Landing has a great facility and a great deal. They just need to be more proactive in making sure the pace of play isn't brutally slow!
